Looks like there's a new Man of Steel trailer. We've seen a similar one before with some words from General Zod. He's making his intentions clear. Check out the action.

Man of Steel is in theaters on June 14, 2013.

LMAO. I hope this movie fails. It looks like it may go a step further and just Bomb.

All these trailers smack of desperation.

I have not been so hyped up by a movie ever. Batman is my favorite hero and I am still more pumped for this than any of The Dark Knight trilogy for some reason. Not saying it will be better but I just want a great Superman movie.

@turoksonofstone:

desperation???? I see nothing but epicness.

Epicness??

Sure.

Let us see how it performs.

Let us see if the Movie audience at large accepts New 52 Superman with $$.

Let us see if it sets records opening weekend.

Even if it does O.K., DC/WB need a blockbuster here, Batman is getting worn-out. look at Star Trek for instance it failed to meet Studio expectations despite taking in decent opening weekend receipts this Man of Steel film IMO looks like it will do the same.

I am a Superman fan BTW and the trailer just does not move me.

@darkknight96000:

The # of trailers! The Alien Spaceship attack on Metropolis! The angsty Superman! That Costume!! Worse even than the last movie one! The original Non, Ursa, and Zod were truly Epic these new actors have HUGE shoes to fill.

@darkknight96000 @jamdamage Don't feed the trolls!

I have your troll right here.

So much of me wants to watch this trailer, but I don't want to spoil anything else for the movie. I'm really really excited about this!

(But if that Krypton doesn't explode rumor turns out to be true, I will explode)

Is it me or if the same feeling that the last batman trilogy ?

Nice.

This will flop just like Zack Snyders last two films. What idiot green lit him as the director? DC has better properties but is too stupid to manage them properly so will keep getting embarrassed as Marvel takes their lame characters all the way to box office gold.

#22 Posted by dreamfall31 (577 posts) - - Show Bio

I know they've said that this had nothing to do with Nolan's Batman-verse, but I could totally see this happening after his trilogy. The other DC powered heroes may not fit into Nolan's movies, but they could totally have just not happened yet within it's world.

OH. MY. GOD!! and u can actually say that during the last two seconds of the trailer and it syncs up! It isn't even funny how epic this is n to think we've only seen about 5 mins worth! I've gotta calm down,hearts beatin too much.

#24 Posted by Osiris1428 (1349 posts) - - Show Bio

I'm a Marvel fan. With that said, I'm predicting that Man of Steel will out do Iron Man III at the box office, and will also be a better film. I hope it does well.

Welp! Im set and waiting for that movie

#26 Edited by Superdork (917 posts) - - Show Bio

This will be the best movie of the year!

And I really hope we get to see Snyder direct a Justice League film! I just love the level of realism in DC's Superhero Films. They should keep making them this way to differentiate themselves from Marvel.

DAT Heat vision.

#28 Posted by MisterNefarious (55 posts) - - Show Bio

@turoksonofstone: Please elaborate. What is desperate about them? I loved this trailer, I really can't wait for this film. It looks to redeem Supes as an action hero.

Admittedly a little worried about the overabundance of Kryptonians, but still... I'm curious why you think this is desperate

Yeah, I am super stoked. This trailer showed some ridiculous levels of action.

Who else saw Zod fighting in his powersuit? I bet Lex Luthor will inherit that thing.

Its hard to determine who you're criticizing with this post.

@turoksonofstone:

OK if the trailers don't "move" you I accept that some people are not so easily moved. I myself was not quite so "moved" by the teaser trailer, but I find it quite hard to believe you are in fact a Superman fan as you say when the first words of your first comment were "LMAO. I hope this movie fails." I find that to be total BS.

And this is the golden question... What superman fan hopes a movie about superman fails

Faora's speech was chilling!

While I liked the previous trailers I was still a bit sceptical. This trailer sold this approach to me. Still not a fan of such a dark version of Superman and his mythos but the trailer got me intrigued in knowing what will happen.

Superman being buried in skulls requires answers!

It doesn't really seem all that dark to me. There is another word for it and it's at the tip of my tongue but I can't remember.

The Superman buried in skulls thing might be nightmare.

This movie is screaming Superman: Earth One to me. And that's not a bad thing I liked Earth one! But with the whole Zod bringing a spaceship and announcing Kal-El to come out or he'll kill everybody thing, I fear this will be one of those movies where we don't see him as ACTUALLY superman closer to the end. Also no shot of glasses Clark makes me a little sad.

But the fight scenes! My god they're gorgeous! And Zod really does have that General commanding feeling in his voice which is awesome.

#38 Posted by sentryman555 (803 posts) - - Show Bio

@turoksonofstone: Of course they're shoving out a bunch of trailers for this. That's part of how a movie succeeds, marketing. And they definitely need a new franchise since, as you said, Batman has ended. But just because they have a lot riding on this movie doesn't mean it won't be epic. And none of these trailers has made me believe the movie will bomb, in my opinion.

It doesn't look dark to m either, especially since Superman is talking about hope in a different trailer. I don't know the word you're looking for, but I would say that this is a more mature, grounded take on the character. It's less whimsical for sure, but all of the important stuff regarding who Superman is seems to be there. He's still an optimistic messianic figure who is protective of us.

That skulls might from the Phantom Zone.

Aliens talking in english always gives me a chuckle. Norse gods talking in funny english managed to make lots of money in the movies so maybe the kryptonians will be lucky in the movies too.

It feels more like the "Kryptonian" Invasion in Birthright

@perfect_10: I'm assuming you mean these:

They're from an article in Wizard Magazine issue 136 titled "Ultimizing the DC Universe." It was published in 2003. You can find more deets here and here. There are some book pitches, but they are really out of date now and not all of them are good.

How can I want Man of Steel to fail and still be a Superman Fan?

Simple. I am a fan of Jerry Siegel's & Joe Shuster's Superman as depicted for the majority of his existence panties and all.

I think all the current changes to Superman and DC at large suck.

New 52/Man of Steel Superman is a different character.

just cause' I dig Batman or Superman as Characters doesn't mean I have to like every or any adaptation of him.
