Man of Steel has had greatly mixed reception since its release last June. Some of the criticisms I've heard the most have been that the film was too cluttered, had issues with pacing, and that action scenes were too long.
And while I enjoyed Man of Steel, I can't help but wonder what could have been done to clean it up and make it into a better film. So what are some things that you would have done to elevate the film?
One of my big complaints was the opening sequence on Krypton. It wasn't necessarily bad, but it didn't really fit in well with the rest of the film. I didn't need to know everything about the politics of Krypton before it was destroyed. So to clean up the film, I would have abridged the Krypton sequence quite a bit, including only enough screen time to introduce the significant characters (Jor El, Lara, Zod), explain the Codex and its significance, and to see the planet explode.
What are some other adjustments people might have liked to see?
