how do you prefer him to be drawn? very muscular, lean but ripped, linebacker-ish?
Superman
Character » Superman appears in 18942 issues.
Sent to Earth as an infant from the dying planet Krypton, Kal-El was adopted by the loving Kent family and raised in America's heartland as Clark Kent. Using his immense solar-fueled powers, he became Superman to defend mankind against all manner of threats while championing truth, justice, and the American way!
how do you all like superman? big? lean? or inbetween?
I liked the first 2 pics in the OP, wherever they'd be ranked on the scale. Not a huge fan of #3. The large-framed (& muscular) man conjures that heroic image/feeling for me, so I like the "lead" characters to look that way. I was impressed at how Cavill looked in MoS, he looked like a comic character.
The way Jim Lee and Tony S. Daniel tend to draw him is pretty much spot on in my opinion. Henry Cavill had a fantastic physique as well.
He should be what Henry Cavill became for MOS.
Yep.
I think it depends more on the artists proportions and uniqueness. Rocaforts Superman feels authentic being lean, but Ed McGuinness' also seems authentic and he's the size of a tank. Uniqueness and creativity are the key.
