He didn't die....well I mean, back then he was considered dead. But then they just came up with, that he was in a coma or something of that sort(can't quite remember)

It turned out that he didn't really die. He came really close and his Kryptonian physiology put him into a "healing coma" which for all intents and purposes is equivalent to human death. So the robots in the Fortress were able to revive him.

Actually he did die technically. His brain was off and his soul left his body and he went into the spirit world.

However, Superman's cell used every last bit of solar energy along with a kryptonian comatose state and a special suit and tank thingy caused the cells to regenerate and dragged Superman back from the dead...

this is also the explanation for how Necron got into the physical universe and why there were other characters such as Jason Todd who were able to come back to life...

So officially the reason for Jason Todd's return is Superman's ghost punched a hole in the wall of the ethereal plain (which is how he got back from the land of the dead) back to the physical world and Superboy-Prime punched the walls of the universe so hard that things dimensions shifted out of order...

from reading the return of superman story arc.....i came to the conclusion that Supes was very much dead but the eradicator somehow transfered some of his life force into Supes n sparked life in him again.plus this was only possible cuz of his kryptonian physiology in earths environment or something like that n that it was only possible once.

Was just a comma. But what doesn't make sense is that he met Pa Kent (who went flatline) and even battled Blaze in an "afterlife"-like world. So does that mean he really went and touched death, even for a wee bit?

Ok this makes no sense. Why would Batman need to brofist Supes to revive him? Wasn't it stated that a Bat-stare can already achieve that?

@ssejllenrad: If Batman and Superman's gazes ever met, the bromantical particles generated would destroy the multiverse. The subsequent shock waves would even damage our own universe.

@TheCrowbar: Interesting... So Clark's glasses here is the only thing saving the multiverse?
