Superman
Character » Superman appears in 18886 issues.
Sent to Earth as an infant from the dying planet Krypton, Kal-El was adopted by the loving Kent family and raised in America's heartland as Clark Kent. Using his immense solar-fueled powers, he became Superman to defend mankind against all manner of threats while championing truth, justice, and the American way!
Geoff Johns and John Romita Jr reported as New SUPERMAN Creative Team [Update]
Why not just pick an artist from the AOS series? I think ill bedropping Superman an if it gets good revews then mybe ill jump back on...you never did our 15 artist list did you?
Oops no, I forgot. I'll do it later today. I already dropped Superman at 21. I missed out on that Psi-War fiasco. Do you like JRJR? Still dont think I am gonna pick it up though. I am trying to get my monthly books down to only Earth 2, Smallville, and Eternal Warrior. Then I can by the way cheaper trades from Amazon.

from what've seen I cant stand his art. I could list at least 5 artists that have worked on AOS that would have been better choices. Oh a nd Valiant releases 14 issue collections which are amazing just so you know. Im reading S/W, Action, B/S, Thor, Saga and Unchaind
Johns is certainly capable of writing a good Superman. I just hope he doesn't go too dark with it and understands that a great Superman should also include helping and saving people from disasters and tragedies, not just constantly frowning and punching some super villain. About the art, I'm not much of a JRjr fan.
So come May or whenever the hell this comes out, we'll have great writers on every Superman series in the New 52. Assuming no one leaves till than of course, not including Superman Unchained because that's ending.

Ahh, well truthfully I think he depends on a good colorist.
I want to read AOS, I am thinking I'll get the trade on Amazon.
I was gonna get the XO Manowar one but lost interest, Not really interested in either harbinger and bloodshoot though. I am hoping that the first 12 Shadowman get collected, that'd be cool.
I'll just be sitting over here continuing to be flabbergasted by how much people seem to dislike JRJr.
ill give him this, greg land, rob liefeld, hamberto ramos, steve dillon, brett booth, are all much worse than him
that and jrjr draws really really great celestials
JRjr needs a good colorist to compensate for the slack. I think DC will provide that. I'm pretty excited for this news...for the most part.

All in all, I've enjoyed all of the Superman stuff by Johns I've read, so I'm on board with this.
Can I pull up a chair? Since when did JRJr. become hated? Maybe there's something I missed. Last thing I read drawn by him was AvX and Kick-Ass and didn't find anything offensive about his work. And here I was looking forward to him doing some DC work!
@squalleon: yup...Ivan Reis would have been better...
Superman is destined to be a hit or miss comic for eternity i feel like.
the only interesting Superman title out right now is "Unchained" and thats seriously because Jim Lee's amazingly breathtaking art
JRJr is definitely hit and miss for me.
This looks... very miss. I hope adding color will help. The other preview pictures aren't any better...
I'm not much of a JRJR fan. I stopped buying Cap because I didn't think his art fit the book and I've never found Kick-Ass particularly esthetically pleasing. Maybe he will shift his style a bit for Supes. I looked at his Spider-Man stuff and I like it more than his recent work. I'll be sticking with Pak/Kuder on Action for dose of Superman. Action has been fantastic so far. Pak displays Superman's warm hearted spirt perfectly and I'm loving Kuder's style.
Does this mean that my hopes of a Geoff Johns/Gary Frank ongoing Shazam title have been crushed? Unless Johns is dropping Justice League, which seems unlikely at the moment, I don't see this happening. I really hope DC can get Frank on an ongoing sometime in the future.
JRJR used to be my second fav artist but his work of late is not to my liking. Still, if he did Batman I'd be okay with it.
Not a fan of Romita Jr., his art has too many shading lines and his characters always look skinny. Works for some, like Spidey, don't think it will work for Supes
That's one ugly superman
IT'S EVEN BETTER WITH COLOURS!!
Here's the colored version of the first pic as well as a second one. SO. MANY. LINES.
That second picture is the bees knees!
In an interview over at IGN Johns said that this storyline will " it will kind of reset Superman and his universe in the New 52."
That is promising news to my ears.
Awesome? tbh I liked H'el though, everything else was bad though.
