ok so superman is faster than light right? if so couldn't he just move so fast that the radiation emitting from the kryptonite could get to him and hurt him? or at least he could go grab a piece of lead and come back and wrap it around the kryptonite?

Yes, but writers and plot prevent that.

when Flash is moving at extreme speeds he has the Speed Force to protect the environment around him from his speed and friction....Superman doesn't have that so no he couldn't move fast enough to get away from the effects of kryptonite

also Superman can't go that fast right off the bat...he would have to work up to that speed and he wouldn't have time before the effects of the kryptonite hit him

pre DCNU superman had to work up to it. Modern day supes, does he? isn't he really just the 1970's superman all over again, but with the 1939 attitude? He can hit light speed with a moderate amount of build-up. And you're forgetting, unless they distinctly, explicitly say so, Superman simply pushes the air away from him and so does not hit them at the speed of light. As one superman parody put it "My new doubletalk body aura, from my new writer".
