A good change to the Earth 2 storyline in my opinion would be to reveal that this 'Brutaal' version isn't the real Earth 2 Superman, but instead a clone, then the real Earth 2 Superman could be revealed to be trapped in another dimension or something, and then return to be modelled after the original Earth 2 Superman/Kal L.

That would not only be a good change but get rid of evil, murderer Superman.

With Val-Zod just becaming Superman. I don't see Kal-L returing as a good guy. Val-Zod and Green Lantern are probably gonna kill him and thats it.

It's sad what this book has turned into and after the current issue, i can't believe i'm saying this but i want Val to kill whoever or whatever this evil Kal is, i hope he's a clone of some sort, can't believe what happened.

I really don't see Kal-L returning on the E2 title especially with Val just starting as the Superman of that world.
The only possibility is the 30th anniverssary of CoIE and even that is a slim one.

Kal-L is the ultimate nostalgia weapon. The Superman of yesteryear that fans loved and lost. In CoIE he was the GA Supes, in pre-52 he was a blend of the GA/SA Superman and in New-52 he is essentially the Pre-52 Superman.
