Do you want an explanation for why Kryptonians and Humans look so similar in the New 52?
It is an unexplained phenomenon, isn't it??
Maybe Kryptonians actually look really alien and we can only see them as human because we're human.
Like, with Galactus.

maybe kryptonian ancestors visited earth and adopted the look (cavemen)
Why would an alien race do that?
No. It's a mystery that doesn't really need solving. There are tons of aliens that look like humans, and they'd have to be encompassed into this mystery as well. Not to mention, the explanation behind it would more than likely be a bunch of ludicrous B.S.
Environmental similarities in both flora and fauna resulted in similar evolutionary growth. Notable differences include the ability to store certain wavelengths of light and convert into alternative types of energy, i.e., a short range field of invulnerability, strength, etc. Possible causes: perhaps underground crystals gave off unique waves of radiation akin to solar types. Early Kryptonians took refuge in caves, similar to Neanderthals, and adapted to the crystal's light in order to defend themselves in the short term from native threats. A form of biological weaponry on a cellular scale. This would explain why kryptonite is lethal: Overexposure to concentrated forms of crystallized light, i.e., Krypton explodes, debris is scattered, most crystals shatter, only most durable, and by extension, most concentrated crystals survive. Overload cellular intake with alternative light source, yellow sun powers are over ridden with energy, causing sickness due to inability to adapt to such high concentrations of native crystal.
End result: Human appearance, cellular difference due to native resources. Neanderthals grew smarter to use tools, Kryptonians grew cellular adaptation to use powers.

The Presence was lazy
Haha, but you do realize that the presence may not be the "God" of the Dc universe right? It was probably Grant Morrison.

Yes, and they could explain all the other humanoid aliens as well while they're at it.
I can understand convergent evolution explaining why races became bipedal and have thumbs. But Kryptonians look exactly like humans.

Fine. YOU WIN THE PRIZE! -.-

@CapFanboy: No, not for real. I realize there is no prize. I AM curious as to why you appeared to be irritated. I was wondering if I did something rude by mistake.
Haha, I'm not irritated in the slightest. It's just you provided a well-thought out answer and therefore win the non-existing prize without me posting an explanation of my own...'twas only a joke :)
