Convergence #0 was nonsense couldn't even finish it.
Superman
Character » Superman appears in 18942 issues.
Sent to Earth as an infant from the dying planet Krypton, Kal-El was adopted by the loving Kent family and raised in America's heartland as Clark Kent. Using his immense solar-fueled powers, he became Superman to defend mankind against all manner of threats while championing truth, justice, and the American way!
Convergence #0, my humble opinion
Some of the titles caught my attention but after wasting $ on this I'm going to wait and hear what y'all think before I pick up another issue.

To be honest, I don't love any particular creative team regarding the convergence titles and the event didn't grab by attention to begin with, since the whole premise is meh. I will hold my money, this is a good opportunity to finish some European classics that I want to for a while now.
Also, I get Jurgens is a big name when it comes to Superman but, that's enough. The guy is ok but his stories are just that, ok, he is never groundbreaking or great. And bringing him again and again on Superman is something I don't want to see. He is to Superman what Levitz is to the Legion of Super-heroes, he gave us something memorable but he overstayed his welcome.
Guess I'm going to see what's going on in Image for the next two months
Well. I actually got mixed feelings about this first issue of Convergence.
I one way, it did shine a light on where Superman was for those two months. And also why it took Superman so long to get back to Earth. I always thought that when he came out of the black hole, he might have been projected to another galaxy altogether. But now I finally see things weren't that simple.
Also there's this mystery about the god-machine Brainiac. We saw that he/it was holding Superman prisioner but the events aftwards did leave one big question. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REAL BRAINIAC?
It was after all this that everything starting going down hill. First we got a glimpse that this Brainiac god actually saved little pieces of all past timelines. And that he somehow created this "extension" of himself to care and maintain each of those pieces. But due to the disappearing act of the Brainiac god, now that mix of all past Brainiacs combined into one, and it's it/he that's gonna be the center of this Convergence thing.
There were a lot a things that were poorly explained. I mean were those chains made of what? Kryptonite? And if so how was Superman able to free himself of them? Why is this god machine so particularly interested in Superman alone? His torture almost didn't seem torture at all; it seemed that the god machine was actually testing and incredible enough trying to teach Superman something about himself.
All of this was kind of confusing. Even more so than the end of Future's End.
All in all this week, with the end of one comic and begining of another. We got a mind fu**, perfect storm, of WTF.
I can't wait for June to arrive and all this madness goes away.
Guys, you can't expect a #0 issue to explain the entire story. My understanding is #0 issues are like prequels to the actual story.
Also, I'm pretty sure the real Brainiac created all the other Brainiacs to capture cities for him. That's usually how its explained when Superman discovers the "real" Brainiac.
It was just to set up the the Convergence event and wasn't ment to be a story with a ending. But I do see why some people would be uninterested in it.
This is hardly a humble opinion.
Building a story we already knew, suspected, revealed in several formats, with cliche dialogue and mediocre storytelling.
That's like complaining about a movie trailer giving away some of the story when you finally see the movie.
I mean were those chains made of what? Kryptonite? And if so how was Superman able to free himself of them?
Not everything has to be Kryptonite. The page before we see large levels of electricity hurt him. IMHO that's what he kept doing, in various stories we've seen electricity arm Kal.
Over all this was a solid is that did what a #0 is supposed to do. Of course we already know what it's about, but we didn't know the full detail.
Art was good but the story set up was pretty weak and the $5 price tag was a tough pill to swallow.
I'll be back for the Darkseid War.
I loved Convergence #0. Definitwly set it up enough, and it sounds like this is basically going to be Countdown: Arena, on a larger scale and more pertinent.

Futures End happened.

Underwelming end happened :P
Brainiac is multi-versal as I've heard?
He was.
@squalleon: Thanks for clearing that up, still don't have time to read it ugh so many papers to do. Thanks, Squalleon! :D
Yeah. But the end of Future's End if anything left things pretty much the same. It was maybe has huge of a waste of time has the Doomed arc.
Has it started it ended, almost the exact same way.
They didn't even bothered to say if Brother Eye absorbed/merged with Brainiac or if Brainiac simply got what he came for and left.
Although the second hypothesis doesn't explain for the disappearance of the god machine.
@heavenlydarkdragon: Thanks or the heads up!
Intriguing and mindf…cking issue 0_o - and that's it.
But oh well, at least it answered what New-52 Supes was up right after end of Doomed; didn’t expect anyting more than that, really.
It was kinda what I expected it to be, the art was pretty good though
I enjoyed it for a prequel.
Yep. It has provided us with some informations and it it was filled with some exceptional art. It wasn't an exceptional issue for sure but it wasn't THAT bad either.
So Telos was like "hey why not totally destroy my Master's collection" and "what better way to do that than by holding a tournament like the hunger games"
hunger games"
That was mentioned in one of the books

You just don't get how deep the story truly is.

I'll still read it though, just to quell my curiosity ;)

And thats why Marvel and DC still push sh!t like that forward. Why try to think a elaborate story when people will buy anything you sell as long as you say it is an event. Sorry for sounding mean but I can't stand that an idiotic event like Convergence will make sales for DC when the story is nothing to show for and absolute filler. As long as we readers buy stuff like these, we don't get a right to complain.
That is a general rant, not personal. I hope you didn't get offended.
I enjoyed it but i'm not picking up the rest of the event. Theonly reason I got it was that it focused on Superman and Dan Jurgens was writing. A decent issue with fantastic art.

Don't worry, you're absolutely right, we really should vote with our wallets. Moreover, comics have gotten expensive so I think we deserve nothing less than their total, artistic and creative commitment. DC's in dire need of an overhaul imo. However I really need to stay on top of things lol
