In the past, he's been able to see different spectral ranges and what-not so yes. As for New 52, it's unsure of yet.

He could in Smallville. He should in the comics.

Didn't he have microvison as well so he can see the smallest detail of changes? This makes it very difficult to surprise Superman when he is on his A-game.

I should be this way but writers will dismiss some of his abilities for the sake of the story.

He has, in the past, seen very small things and has also been shown to see wavelengths outside of the human visible spectrum. So, yes.

As I said in his A-game he either gets distracted with other things or he prefers to be attacked so no one else gets hurt.
