The opinion that The Flash is highly replaceable in the JL is popular due to the conception that Supes can do everything that The Flash can. What's the true extent to that notion?

We've never seen Superman do this to my knowledge, and in most situations it doesn't seem like he'd need to since he could just punch through the wall or go around it in most cases.

Flash use to be able to travel through time without the cosmic treadmill, but I don't think he can anymore. Superman doesn't have all of Flash's speed force abilities, but its rare that Flash really breaks out any of the big tricks tbh.

Even Aquaman is less replaceable then Flash.

He never tried, he secretly has a lot of fun breaking them. Flash gets a bad rap, he has so much potential but often gets dumbed down.

pre-52 supes can phase,he has done that 2 or 3 times. new 52 supes has not done that yet.

Flash is essential to the JL and not replaceable ...its not only about the powerset but what flash brings to the team.... levity

Barry is/was replaceable. Wally is not! Damn you DC!

I am pretty sure he can but it hasnt been shown in the new continuity at this point.He doesnt need to vibrate through things as someone said when you can just break them.

n52 Flash has the ability to assess a multitude of possible future scenarios/outcomes of a particular event by tapping his mind into the speed force. That is an invaluable tool that has not been exploited yet in to the Justice League comic. If this can be played up more in the title he will become/is an invaluable member of the team.

My guess is Superman prefers to vibrate only bec that is more popular with the girls.

I think the real question is does he really need to cause that's like giving superman a cellophane s shield to throw.

He probably can, although would he really need to?

I do not think it is about being replaced for nobody can be all places at any given time. Just because the leader of a group is super bad ass does not take away from anybody in the group. It simply says they can have the back of its core members when needed. That to me says. Damn awesome leader. Not oh take my place you can do my job to. Hell you said that to your boss he would laugh at you and tell you get back to work.

Just because somebody else can do what you can does not mean your not important it simply means that if you fall down somebody has you till you get our lazy ass up.

So get your as up.

A team is a group of people whom can learn from each other and multitask if needed. 100 people is not enough for a world of billions , a universe of trillions and this is the small peace of the pie we see. We play on a playground with limited vision our stories are small because our vision is limited.

One reason Superman and WW is a awe inspiring pair is because if you upgrade your stories to truly Epic. Super size my tale. Then you better have a epic group up to the task before them because when the action gets intense and it will.

You better be holding on to something or you will have your mind blown.

Didn't Supergirl say that they could not move when they phased?

It's really simple,if Flash can vibrate his molecules ONLY because of his link to the speedforce,than no superman can not vibrate his,but if it's just a side effect of being very fast,than superman should be able to do it.

Actually Superman has vibrated through solid matter in rare ocasions, but he has done it.

The main problem for superman is that unlike the flash that has the anti-inertia field that allows him to simply go all out in terms of speed. Superman can't do it just anywhere. More than once superman has been shown to be able to move faster than light, way faster. Specially now in the New 52, and of course in the silver-age Superman. But the problem is that on Earth the faster he moves the more damage he creates, and that's completely logic, any object moving at higher than sound speeds, creates a shock wave that depending on the speed can stretch for high distancies and has such create immense destruction.

Superman in space can go all out and move at FTL but on Earth he doesn't do it.

So has for vibrating through solid objects it makes perfect sense that Superman can do it, but seeing that it's a Flash and other speeders trade move, we simply rarely see him do it.
