@cresshadow:
Post-SAR, ah?
Look. No one can tell you why you should read Superman. Each one of us, that read Superman comics, we all have our reasons.
Some like me have been following Superman since we were kids. And we relate to the character, his ideals, his story, even his powers, in some way or another.
A person can't make another person like Superman. It has to be your initiative. Your desire to learn all there's to know about the character.
My only advice to you, if you really want to start reading Superman comics, then do it with an open mind. Any less than that, and you'll go into all this new stuff already with preconceived ideas and expecting something, and in the end you'll get another.
Trust me on this. You're question relates to asking another person why does he or she likes reading at all. That person can explain it from his/her point of view but that's that. No matter how much detailed his/her point seems, if the person listening doesn't have it him/her to do the same. Then it's all for nothing.
