Sent to Earth as an infant from the dying planet Krypton, Kal-El was adopted by the loving Kent family and raised in America's heartland as Clark Kent. Using his immense solar-fueled powers, he became Superman to defend mankind against all manner of threats while championing truth, justice, and the American way!
So it looks like BM v SM wouldn’t be all about “humanity against Man of Steel”, glad that some people actually recognize that Superman saved world in the first movie. But of course, there is a downside – it left me with distinct feeling of “Dark Knight Returns”, and this is not good. Hopefully, Man of Steel will live up to his “you will never control me”-speech.
Not to worry, friend. Zack himself stated that while inspiration will be drawn from TDKR, the movie will NOT be an adaptation of the book. His quote was, "If you were going to do that, you would need a different Superman. We’re bringing Batman into the universe that now this Superman lives in." So far, the only resemblances to the comic are Batman's suit and the fact that there's apparently a winter environment involved in the film. And at the end of Man of Steel, Supes made it clear that his services will be on his own terms, a stark contrast to the brutal, boy-scout stooge Supes in the comic. Plus, think about who wrote that story. Frank Miller. A man who loves Batman but is indifferent to Superman.
Don’t take those words in my previous post too seriously, mate. Open mind and low expectations – that’s my position when it comes to movies; that way I can count on being pleasantly surprised and almost never – disappointed.
@justthatkid: With the movie taking place two years in the future, it wouldn't make sense for anyone to come out and start complaining after two years.
