There is Brandon Routh and Henry Cavill. But are there other actors that you could imagine for Superman? Please share your thoughts and pictures.

Apart from resurrecting Chris Reeve with computer animation, please leave Henry Cavill on this role.

The smile on his face when Superman is first flying was intoxicating. I almost jumped out of my seat in the movie theater with joy when I first saw the scene.

@zardu: with a little body building, he would've been great. cavill comes off like a more sophisticated thug. he doesnt pull off the gentle god at all.

@thetimestreamer: Cavill seems to me like a model for men's suits. He did not have much scope in his role. He was just there, to cool and without personality. Maybe he could have made more out of his role, if they'd let him.

@zardu: to me the 'if they'd let him' excuse, it is an excuse, is BS. almost all of the greatest moments in cinema are off script, the actors improvising. the 'you talking to me, you must be talking to me' bit is all deniro, they just said to him 'just talk to yourself in the mirror whatever for a minute or two'. full metal jacket with the drill sgt 40% of what he says it's his material. so yeah that excuse doesnt fly with me.

@thetimestreamer: I don´t wanted to excuse. I did not know Cavill before Man of Steel. It's just a bad script. Cavill should never play a Superman with personality and depth. Man of Steel was intended as a CGI action movie ... unfortunately.

Well....I still like him as Magneto, if he did have to play a character from DC well you probably have an idea of who I would pick it's not that difficult to figure it out.

Depends on the age of Superman. You want an older one, I could see Jon Hamm filling that role.

Well, Tobey Maguire lost Spiderman, Maybe he can take over America's most well known superhero, instead of the one that's in a very very close tie for second with batman. Y'know what? Let's give him batman too.

I just re watched The Count of Monte Cristo and our Superman is in it. Just looked up height and Henry is about 3 inches shorter than Ben Affleck, at to the fact that Batman has boots and ears, that half a foot bigger.

Ben Affleck. I'm not saying this to spite anyone. Especially the Bat Affleck haters. And I'm not expecting him to play Supes. But he did play a very convincing George Reeves.

@tektheninja: The man sacrificed his own son to Superman, LoL he named him Kal El and owned the original Action Comics, the man deserves to play him.... doesnt mean I want him to.
