The dog acidently knocked the controls of the ship and sent it veering off course. Eventually the rocket crash landed on the planet Zumoor. The boy and his dog were found and adopted by a kindly alien couple named Chad and Vela Kazzan. The Kazzans named the boy Zarl and found that he was developing super-powers due to Zumoor's low gravity and the golden energy rays of Zumoor's moon. When Zarl grew a bit older, he took on the identity of Mighty Boy and became Zumoor's defender. He would later meet and befriend Superboy. |

Mon-El First meeting: Superboy #89 When Clark had first met the amnesic Mon-El he assumed him to be another survivng Kryptonian and named him Mon-El (a hybrid of the fact he met him on a monday and his Kryptonian last name El) Clark accidently poisoned Mon-El after the two attempted to see if he was from Krypton by exposing him to a piece of Kryptonite but accidently poisoned him with the lead (lead being deadly to Daxamites) case it was contained in. Clark was forced to put Mon-El in the Phantom Zone as a form of stasis until he found a way to cure him. Mon-El is freed from the Phantom Zone in the 21st Century by Superman after requesting to escape the Phantom Zone while it was in the process of self destructing. Mon-El is then cured of his lead poisoning thanks to a cure left by the Legion for him. Clark asked Mon-El to protect Metropolis in his absence. |
