After Batman (Terry McGinnis) interfeared with their failed attempted robbery, Bonk eventually tired of taking orders from the group's leader, an apparrently resurrected Joker, and confronted the new Crown Prince of Crime, saying he wanted out. Joker then shot him with toxic laughing gas, which killed him. In the Justice League Unlimited episode The Once and Future Thing Part Two: Time, Warped, an alternate reality created by Chronos showed Bonk to be alive, and cybernetically modified to be able to change his hand into a hammer. This reality was erased at the end of the episode.
