Superman at war!!!

Review:  Note, I picked this up thanks to Free Comic Book day ^^  
 
Superman attends to stop General Zod and his men from conquering earth with the help of the kryptonians, but his plan is already in underway as Zod taunts Superman for his failure to protect New Krypton. Lois writes a story about the events that happen with Superman and Supergirl, the bottled city Kandor and the kryptonians, New Krypton and General Zod, her father, and Jimmy Olson. Jimmy later appears, after he was in hinding, and tells Lois the truth about her father. An excellent story that I may start reading soon. The art was fantastic, scenes that give a dark tone and an intense emotion beings out the characters. The only problem is that it was too short, but the second story with Lois made it up for me. Looking forward for more of this Arc sometime soon.

I picked this up on Free Comic Book Day and it got me excited for War of the Supermen that starts next Wednesday.  The graphics are very similar to last year's Blackest Night #0 as well as concept with quickly updating everyone on past events and hinting what was to come.   I've been a Superman fan for years and never thought to wonder who would win between angry Kryptonians and scared Earthlings.  This issue does show how little Zod changed in aggressiveness over the past year as well as the fu...

A short preface, I read 20 or so issues of Action Comics back when Busiek and Johns were writing it.  I decided I might like to read some decent Superman stories, and never got around to it.  I heard that J Michael Straczynski was taking over Superman's monthly, as well as writing the Earth One series.  I love JMS, so I'm in starting with #700.  But I wanted a little head start and when I saw this, I had to do it.  On to the review.  I haven't ever read a story by James Robinson prior to this.  ...
