They're right behind you
Preface:
before i read this i wasnt quite sure about this title. i mean the art was good not great (jim lee has done much better before) and the story was good not great. But as a Superman fan i was gonna stick with this title. too many of the right piece's imo. so lets see if this is actually gonna be a good story...
Review:
This was an awesome ride. this was, by far, the best looking issue Jim Lee has drawn in the entire new 52. furthermore, Scott Snyder is bringing this story around. This issue features a very good representation of Lex Luthor and one of his mysterious plans, the group called ascension seems to be a very present threat, and Snyder managed to make me stop hating Wraith in this issue as well. I love the fight in this book and, for the second time in the new 52, i felt like i was reading Superman. this felt like a Superman book. thats the best thing it has going for it.
Verdict:
Well drawn, well written, made me suspenseful and put me on the edge of my seat. My singular complaint is that i have seen Jim Lee do MUCH better work than this. and i keep waiting to feel like im looking at JIM LEE art but sadly that moment hasnt come yet in the new 52.....
Superman Unchained issue 4 gets......a 3......out of 5
