the_mighty_monarch's Superman: The Last Family of Krypton #2 - Part Three; Part Four review

    It's Elseworlds. 'Nuff Said.

The Good: It's still Elseworlds and that's still awesome.
The whole character development the twins get is really neat. I especially love the scene where they're sitting on a nuclear warhead waiting for it to go off and talking about it from the mind of the children they are, and then the next scene where their parents are giving them a talking too has some really excellent dialogue and art.
Luthor's becoming more and more interesting.
The 1 sided rivalry that Bru-El develops towards Kal-El is interesting as well.
The Doomsday cult is an awesome plot element, and especially what they do in Part 4, and the entire way that plays out is very well done.
I LOVE the set-up for Kal becoming Superman. His failure at self-discovery, the costume, the departure, it was a really well done scene.
I spent the entire issue wondering if Clark and Lois still hook up, the way my question was somewhat indirectly answered at the end was great.
    The Wayne Family.
Such a great length for a $4 comic.
The introduction to Kryptonite was great and well done.

The Bad: The whole thing where the El's come in as random other people to Kal's graduation seemed totally bogus, Plus, he said "no on in the graduation audience dreamed there were four Kryptonians among them." What the fuck? There were 5!
The art usually looks great but sometimes the male characters with black hair are a bit indistinguishable until someone points them out. It makes sudden transitions awkward at times when you're not sure who you're seeing.
Also, Arlem has a tendency to make the face look really strange and almost constipated, especially when someone's really happy.
We got a great intro to Valora-El and Bru-El, and then a lot of development on Bru-El's feelings of inferiority, but Valora almost dropped off the face of the comic, I really wanted to see more of her experiences.

    In Conclusion: 4/5
It's a great comic. It's a great deal, basically 2 $3 issues for the price of 1 $4 issue. and IT'S ELSEWORLDS. It's interesting and cool, and fun, and go buy it now.
