In this issue we see as Kal - El crawls out of his birthing Matrix on his own. Instead of being picked up by the Kents however, he is run over by a mna who is frightened at first, but sees that the child is absolutely fine. Calling him a miracle baby , the man drops him off at a local orphanage. Not too long from that a young couple named the Sudermans adopt young Kal, and rename him Dale Suderman. Yet fate has other plans than to let this trio become a nuclear family, and soon little Dales fa...

A true orphan's story 1
What is Elseworlds? It is a bunch of "alternate timeline" pocket universes where writers and editors of the company basically put Superman (and other characters of the DC universe) in unfamiliar settings. That's what the official tagline says. In truth, it is a smart excuse for D.C. to use ideas for stories they have gathered over the years that were never published Of the 4 comics (out of 5) that I have read so far, some ("Kal" and "Distant Fires") were tragic, while "Speeding Bullets" ...
