LEX LUTHOR is pretty much relegated to comic relief in this one, although he does point the real villains, three Kryptonian criminals who have escaped from the Phantom Zone. Terrance Stamp( Haunted Mansion,Phantom Menace) plays Zodd the leader of the three with scene stealing zest. Christopher Reeves is still pure genius, and the effects hold up. The bus scene still baffles me. If you want to watch a comic book movie with a story. Check it out.
I can't believe it took me this long to finally watch this cut. The introduction by Richard Donner was pretty cool, I'd never even seen him before. Its cool that he finally got to tell his version of the story. And theres a bunch I agree with him on. The movie is pretty similar, but with several good scenes added, while the bad ones got cut. In honor of the release of Man of Steel this Friday, I'm having Superman Week where I review the previous Superman movies. Today, Superman II. Before hoping in, I have to say that you will probably be able to make a drinking game out of how many times I mention how hot Ursa is.The GoodSuperman - Supes was once again very good in this film.
