    Superman/Batman

    Team » Superman/Batman appears in 1080 issues.

Superman and Batman, the two most recognizable characters in comic books, frequently team up to tackle threats that neither of them can handle on their own, each bringing their own special talents to the fore.

Do we really need a Superman/Batman book?

Not that I don't like these two,but they are so overexposed that I kind of feel this book is overkill.

As a person whose favorite title was the pre52 Superman/Batman (if only b/c it combined his 2 fav. characters), yes. But seeing as the new52 duo doesn't have anywhere near the same kind of relationship (and the old one started on their good relationship, not from the first meeting)....I'm wary. (Batman straight up said Superman wasn't his friend in the latest RHatO).

Not really, with all the Bat/Supes books out there do you really need this? Just have them show up in there regular series and do something. DC has become WAY too dependent on Batman at this point. Now I have loved the Court of Owls and Death in the Family arcs, but that doesn't mean that half of all the comics DC puts out have to have Batman or Superman in it.

@herrweis: Kinda they need to cancel The Dark Knight its so boring, I just buy it and toss it in my shoe box. They need to cancel Smallville, I hated the show too. Then Superman/Batman can fill both the voids and the problems fixed.

Does anyone remember when in Justice League Batman or Superman was talking about they work together sometimes outside of the JL. Will this book take place in that time period?

Ugh, this. I love the Supes-Bats relationship, but thanks to the New 'Everyone's Either Antisocial or a Jerk Except Barry' Justice League, I'm not looking forward to this if it happens.

Yea, I'm already imagining (& cringing) some cliched "they're opposites who rub each other the wrong way, but guess what?! a challenge comes along and they, although reluctantly at first, get along!!"

World's Finest was always a part of the DC Universe until the 1980's. For those who think Superman / Batman are over exposed now, let's remember that in the 1970's Batman was in his own title, Detective Comics, Brave and Bold, Justice League and World's Finest. Superman was in his own title, Action, JLA. and World's finest. At a time when a lot fewer titles were produced, I wonder if the ration of books they appeared in were any less than they appear in today?

    Yes, we do need it.

As for the overexposed thing, you have to look at it like this, Dc and Marvel are businesses, thus if a character(s) sales, they will continue to put him or her into the spotlight, the X Men sale, thus they have tons of books, Batman sales, so he will be in quite a few too, Wolverine sales, so he gets two ongoings not counting the number of X titles he appears in, that's just how it works.

A title starring DC's two biggest characters and an awesome creative team? Absolutely.
