  2. "The Toughest Job in the World" written by Unknown, penciled and inked by Al Plastino. Clark Kent works on some of the toughest jobs in the world for a Daily Planet series. While working on a subway tunnel project he encounters an unscrupulous Chief Engineer.
  3. "The Dog who Loved Superman!" written by Jerry Coleman, penciled and inked by Al Plastino. Superman must defeat the mob boss known as 'The Professor' who has discovered an innovative way to elude capture by Superman.
  4. "The Terrible Trio!" written by William Woolfolk, penciled by Wayne Boring and inked by Stan Kaye. The Prankster, The Toyman and Luthor team up to defeat Superman once and for all.

While no one was looking, D.C.'s artists were upping their game.. 0

Prior to the 1950s often all the art, pencils and inks for a comic were done by one artist. Which led to many distinctive styles, but at a cost of time - no one artist could devote as much time to a given comic. But by the 1950s we start to see many more comics with an art team, one penciler and one inker.   With only the job of inking, inkers were able to spend more time adding depth and shading to the comic panels - which led to richer art all around.
