DC Comics proudly presents the 700th issue of SUPERMAN, a 56-page extravaganza full of tales celebrating the Man of Steel's past, present and future! First up is a story by the man who actually killed Superman, Dan Jurgens! A Disappointing Anniversary 0

There is a distinct lack of substance to the fanfare here (which is also lacking).  The whole anniversary issue feels slapdash on DC's part, especially after the excellent roller coaster ride War of the Supermen provided and in anticipation of JMS' upcomign Grounded storyline.  The first story, The Comback, feels like at best an afterthought and at worse an extended version of the final scene of War of the Supermen 4 (the last time we saw Superman).  After an ultimately meaningless, by-the-numbe...
