Superbad
Superman has been fighting aliens for the past three issues now. I've have grown tired of having the same thing happen over and over. However, issues for does what the past ones haven't.
THE GOOD:
I really like Jesus Merino's artwork on this book. His lines are clearly established but there is also a sketchy feeling to it. He also adds a lot of the background that makes the book just fun to look at. The story is little in this issue. We have a couple of characters that are talking about what has been going on in Metropolis recently. We also have Lois and Perry talking about why Clark is acting weird. I really like Lois in this book.
THE BAD:
I don't think these villains are interesting yet. I want to know more about them and I think four issue into this we should have a lot more information about what is going on here. Comic Vine's review mentioned DC trying to modernize all of the supporting cast and I totally agree that this is a negative factor. I also wish that Clark would become more like he was Pre-Reboot.
THE VERDICT: 4/5 (Great)
Superman is a good series. However, if the plot was going fast it would be great. I think this reboot should've made Superman's first villain more Doomsday like. Instead we got element monsters. I really wish that Superman would also start talking and being the center of this book. I feel that he is a little absent from this book. If you like Superman, this will probably satisfy you. If you want a good read, then you probably want to find something else, however, you might enjoy this.
