“SUPERMAN VERSUS LUTHOR.” When Clark Kent begins to investigate a new weapon being tested by the Army that artificially causes earthquakes, little does he know that Lex Luthor is hot on the trail of securing the plans for that invention, one way or the other.

"Superman versus Luthor" For the first time in its history, the city of Metropolis is ravaged by a terrible earthquake. Superman first attends to the victims, then as Clark Kent he discovers the disturbance was caused by a new weapon the Army was testing. When he goes to interview the inventor, he is clubbed from behind and feigns unconsciousness. He soon discovers that Luthor also knows about the device and is planning to steal it. After Superman foils his attempts twice, Luthor challenges Superman to a contest, that will pit Superman's muscles against Luthor's scientific feats!

The Daily Star is now known as the Daily Planet beginning in this issue.
