End of the Adventure
After weeks of waiting, we finally see the conclusion to Krypton Returns by Scott Lobdell. The finale time sees Superman joining forces with Jor-El to stop H'El from enslaving Krypton. Meanwhile, Superboy and Supergirl have their own problems.
The Good
I have to say that seeing Superman meet his father was heartwarming, albeit a bit forced, considering the circumstances. I also liked the interactions between Superboy and Kara before she became Supergirl because Superboy wants to keep her safe even after everything that's happened between them. Kenneth Rocafort is still a great artist. Even though I think he was not at the top of his game, he still did some great drawings.
The Bad
Superboy's death. It was already confirmed by Lobdell a few weeks back, but this was a total letdown. I'm not upset with the sacrifice Superboy did, I'm upset that his death did not have the emotional impact I thought it would have. Also, H'El has become a ridiculous villain. The way Superman defeats him is absolutely lame.
The Verdict
I'm just glad this event is over, but I still have issues with the fact that the Superboy is dead, he had wasted potential. However, I still have faith Lobdell will deliver a great story arc.
