Superman #13
Kenneth Rocafort does an amazing job on this book. His style isn't what you would picture on Superman, but it instantly increased the enjoyment of this series from past issues. The amount of details he adds to the characters and the backgrounds creates the setting. The sketchiness of his work is also another great reason he is already rocking this book. Scott Lobdell being on this book might worry some, but it turned out to be quite fun. He starts off by showing us that Superman is super strong and they are no longer reducing his powers to make him more human. He adds humor into the book and the defiantly allows the reader to have some fun in this issue due to it being set up. He manages to nail almost all of the characters as well. Clark is really interesting and you really feel for the character. The action at the end of the book it better then most of the past issues put together. The giant monster was a great addition and it really adds action and fun into the book.
THE BAD:
He almost nailed all the characters... Lois Lane. This is one character that has taken more being then Superman has in the past year. She has been removed from Superman and his wife. She's been made into a producer. I felt like that ruined a lot of the fun had between Clark and Lois when they were competing but secretly loved each other. Scott Lobdell manages to make her unlikable to add to all those other things. The crossover is also a good idea but we probably should have a little more direction before we jump into a huge crossover.
THE VERDICT: 4/5 (Great)
This is a great start to what looks like a new beginning to a series that was a little troubled from the start. If you like Superman and him being super-strong and pure fun, this is for you. If you are a fan of his supporting cast, you might like this but some of the character are a little off. I suggest that everyone get this because they will have fun and they can see that a super strong Superman can still be human. I highly recommend this.
