  2. "The Ghost of Lois Lane" written by Jerry Coleman, penciled by Wayne Boring and inked by Stan Kaye. Superman inadvertently causes an accident in Professor Grail's lab, which may cost Lois Lane her life. Reprinted in Superman's Girl Friend, Lois Lane #77.
  3. "Clark Kent, Fireman of Steel!" written by Otto Binder, penciled and inked by Al Plastino. Clark Kent joins the Metropolis Fire Department to do a story on fire-fighting, but must do so without revealing that he is Superman. Reprinted in Superman #197.
  4. "The Girl in Superman's Past" (An Untold Tale of Superman) written by Bill Finger, penciled by Wayne Boring and inked by Stan Kaye. Clark meets, dates and proposes to his College sweetheart, Lori Lemaris. Reprinted in Superman Annual #1 & Superman #217.

Superman Proposes... But Not to Lois! 0

One of the best of the 1950s Superman stories, 'The Girl in Superman's Past' introduces Lori Lemaris for the first time. It's a bittersweet love story about two star-crossed lovers, Clark and Lori who can never be together.
