    That's better...

    Plot

Mary Jane gets May and Jay out of the city --well technically the Firefighter/boyfriend drives the car,so he's the one who takes them out of the city--.Otto blows up Parker Ind. to convince everybody he's dead and do something with Carlie's powers. The he gets out to find the Goblin, but Gobby has already hacked EVERYTHING Otto related, tells him though comm that he will destroy everything he values. And he does.Because he's the Green Gobllin. Then Otto goes to search him,and finds him holding Lamaze as hostage. Then Lamaze sucrifices himself to save Ock,and we have a bonding which's useless, cause the guy's dead.Anyways.JJ's Spider-Slayers arrive to beat the snot out of Spider-Man,but Miguel(Spidey 2099) comes to the scene and dissables them, and tries to interogate Spider-Man,because he doesn't seem to be himself.Even the "future dude" got it.....Then Goblin hacks the Slayers TOO,and they capture Miguel too.The guy who controls the Slayers introduces himself as Norman Osborn.
(Sorry it was a big plot.......i'm just a man)

    Thoughts

    So....
This issue is the best Goblin Nation intallment we got so far....and conviniently enough,it's the first Goblin Nation issue which's not written by Slott. It's written by Christos Gage, who i recently started liking.

The reason this time it works better is that we get ALL the subplots in the first pages. The "Mary Jane-Pathetic boyfriend driving May and Jay outta town",the "Goblin lair",the "Mayor's Office" --by the way Glory quit as Jameson's assistant....i know, i didn't care too--,the "Otto mmindscape where Peter has compeletelly lost it,and thinks he's Otto, while hating on himself.....", and then we keep up with our main story....which is absolutelly great. You get the update what's happening around in the world, and then you have 14 pages of main story.Neat.

    Characters are well written.Human.Gage's writing differs from Slott's.Slott is a 60s dialog guy,which isn't bad,it's a style,whereas Gage is a modern dialog guy,which is a style too.It just happens to be a style i prefer.
Goblin talks with Spider-Man nad says that he has spotted every place Otto holds dear, and will blow it up to pieces......and BOOM he does it.For your information, the places are the Octavious household(understood),the Boneyard where the NYPD has all of Ock's inventions locked away(that is reasonable, okay) and now go the the bizzare choices....the Lab where Ock had the accident....(if i was Ock,i would have blown the place up years before Gobby thought of it....and ,case in point, thank the Goblin for choosing to destroy it...) and the H.E.A.R.T. clinic where he saved the little girl.....(Okay....he saved the kid.Why is the destruction of the place gonna "hurt him"?....in what way?....hurt Cardiac?..sure,it's his clinic,it's his legacy, that i understand....but Ock?....with his attitude,he couldn't care less!!) .....

Now let's be serious for a momment here, and analyse the most important part of the issue.....the Stewie Griffin cameo. No,i'm kidding, there's no Stewie cameo.Wish there was though.Anyway.
The most important part of the issue was that it is the first time Goblin attacks what Ock holds dear to him....the places Goblin thinks Otto values, abducting Ock's tall girlfriend(i'm a bad person) etc.And you ask me "Well, why does he do that?....Parker is his foe, what's his motivation for doing these things to Otto?" ....well,if you asked so nicely, who am i to refuse a lovely lady; he accually explains the reason himself.Greeny holds a grudge on Otto, cause ,as he says so himself,Spider-Man's "Number .2" villian got to kill him,and that "that was Green Goblin's job!!"...and i totally unerstand that.
In the two previous issues Norman(oops!) attacked his "Spider-Man" stuff, and let his "Otto stuff" alone. Now it's personal.
Though the thing i hate,is that he still doesn't know who Spider-Man really is....i mean,c'mon.

Mary Jane and May are safe outta town,(Firefighter-pathetic boyfriend, curtesy) and Goblin doesn't know that Spider-Man is Peter,so i don't believe he'll make an attempt to find them.....and Goblin thinks Parker's buried under Parker Industries.....thus they're not in trouble.
And while you're all wondering,i'll give ya an answer : I accuse the boyfriend of being pathetic, cause in the previous issue,Mary called her Aunt and made an in-depth analysis of their relationship,in front of him,and he didn't say a thing, and in this issue, she calls Peter and she tells him that "WE'RE NOT TOGETHER ANYMORE" and that "You made clear what you concider important and what not...." again,RIGHT in front of him....that SCREAMS obsessed ex-girlfriend,and if he ditched her right after the whole mess,i wouldn't question it at all......but him not saying a thing, and just doing what she says,is no better than when Ock tried to get in her panties.....he's just doing it delicately.

Peter's in the mindscape and thinks he's Ock.....yeah,that's happening for 2 pages....but since he's gonna be back,it's all gonna be resolved in the next two issues,so.......whatever.

    Lamaze dies while saving "Spider-Man",and that's sweet....except it's not.A person is dead.HOW COULD YOU THINK IT'S SWEET YOU DOLTS?! (huh!??....dolts!!....Ock referance.....shut up)

And the big surprise for the end. When Goblin takes control of the Slayers,he reveals he's the one and only NORMAN OSBORN!!!!
    We still haven't seen him unmask officially,so i'll keep my cheers down......maybe it's a trick,but i,personally htink it's not.It's him.
Norman WANTS people to know he's awesome, and he thinks he's gonna kill Spider-Man now,so i assume he wanted Ock to know the man who killed him....also Ock calls him "Osborn" a lot in the issue....i think they want to establish it as common knowledge by now.

Best Goblin Nation issue, with minor cutbacks, but overall enjoyable.

    Image Notes

It is so disturbing that Norman doesn't know who's really Spider-Man....there were days when THIS EXACT THING defined their battles.

Otto otto....the arrows CLEARLY show the door-knob....and you go and open the doors woth both hands?!....shame Otto...Norman wanted to help you.

"Instead i'm stuck here with ya'll,cuz i have high hopes of hitting that red-head......if i'm lucky....which,thus far, i'm not..."
Honestly?....he wouldn't have made such a f$%^&ing mess of things,in the first place....

Superior Spider-Man #29The goodThe Goblin Kings brutal and personal attack on Spock continues this issue, and we see quite how far The Green Goblin is willing to go to hurt Otto. It’s often said that good heroes are defined by their villains; well The Green Goblin proves quite how dangerous he can be in this issue. Slott is fantastic at capturing the sadistic glee that the Goblin takes in hurting Spider-Man and it’s really satisfying, in an odd way, to see the hero struggling to dea...

More destruction and pain, thanks to The Green Goblin! 0

My review for, Superior Spider-Man #28. Green Goblin has destroyed Spider-Island, is rampaging through the city with his army, and wants to cause Otto some pain, all with the ultimate goal to finally kill Spider-Man. THIS is the makings of an outstanding issue! The GoodGreen Goblin wants to break Otto, I think this counts as a mission accomplished. BOOM!So in this issue, writer Dan Slott heats up the Goblin Nation story arc, and begins to test Spock's worth as a hero, and, a villain. Because the ...
