It is a set-up,and it feels like a set-up.
Description
Ock has opened 'Parker Ind',while Flash-Venom is trying to stop Crime Master's arms dealing.
Ock goes there, and is trying to face Flash-Venom,and fight him,as he thinks he's the villian.
They end up coming to conflict, and we are ready to a big fight between them!!!!....in issue 23....
Thoughts
This issue is reminding me of issue #10,of the same series......it was clearly a day in the life of the SUPERIOR Peter-Pus,and a set up for a "big" fight.
There are some nice momments and the writing is as always.....nice.The usual subplots are there, but we have minus two standard ones and a new one.We don't have the Green Goblin and the Mary Jane subplot, but we have Jonah 'plotting' his "revenge" onto this "Wall-Crawling Menace"....(Yost made Jonah call him "A blackmailing son of a b!tch"....i liked that more).
Also the subplot of the "Carlie abduction" is on,with Watanabe getting inside Carlie's house and searching it.And she desides to bring Spider-Man in, quote "DEAD OR ALIVE..." ....Carlie had to be abducted, for her to decide to take action......two issues ago she didnt have a care in the world, and now she's all action......i presume, the "action" will be commited in two-three issues from now, cause she has other stuff to do....not that any human life is at stake....
If Slott will keep adding more subplots, from characters, they will run out of colours for the contour of the thought boxes.....
It's the issue where the least stuff happen and the less people from the cast we see.....
Something interesting is that Cardiac(Elias Wirtham) is working in Parker Industries....nice touch.
The art is a mess.....Ramos was good last two issues he drew.....actually very good. Now he's back to mediocricy.
Generally it's a "fill-in" issue, with no particular rate of importancy.....certainly not the quality of the last 2 months....
