Slott Knew Better. 0

So, let's just get this right out of the way. Spider-pus does not rape Mary Jane. So while I won't apologize for worrying that Slott would pull something like that, I do admit that it was probably my biggest subjective issue with this book so far. Now that this whole thing is over with I can now just focus on how, objectively, this book fails. That fair? Now, my biggest problem with this book is that even though nothing bad truly happened, this entire issue was focused at least on Spider-pus despe...

I like it 0

I enjoy the story and the direction of this new Superior Spider-Man. This issue focuses on Doc-Spideys interaction with Mary Jane and Ghost Peter's (ghost peters:-)) reaction to what is happening in the life he should be living. The panels of Doc Spidey on his date 'experiments' are funny and lighthearted. There are hints that some people are sure something is wrong with Doc Spidey and determined to find out what's up. The action was lacking in this issue, but sometimes that is necessary to mov...

Won't Pick it Up 0

There are many things that are just flat out wrong and disturbing in this issue.I despise how Ock is obsessing over Mary Jane and he so desperately wants to sleep with her.i'm thinking that Slott and Wacker are pedos for doing something like this. While I was happy he didn't rape Mary Jane I was also enraged. Because Slott is known for his jokes and this is a sick and horrible joke.Marvel seriously has problems. The only thing good about the issue was the art and nothing more....

This Issue Is Crazy Banana Pants! 0

When i picked up the first issue, i really liked it, i am serious, i gave it a decent, NO in fact i gave it a very good score, but Holy hell the second issue was much much worse. however, we'll explore that later. The good side of this story would be the fact that peter parker is alive, or he is a ghost now, meaning that this shouts out " OCK IS STILL THE VILLAIN",meaning that this all a means to an end. I like how peter/or ock uses his intelligence much more efficiently, in fact, otto comes up ...

Superior Doc Ock 0

Doc Ock finally gets a new lease on life. In Spider-Man's body, he's keeping up with his science and he's able to enjoy the perks of being everybody's favorite superhero. Having Peter Parker's memories has sparked an interest in Mary Jane. With Doc Ock living in Peter's body, will Mary Jane figure out what's really going on?The GoodRyan Stegman's really put his signature on this "new" Spider-Man. He's fierce, vicious and malevolent. Doc Ock Spidey has amazing panel presence because he's clearly ...

Video Review: Superior Spider-Man #2 0

Otto kissing MJ. Blech. That's creepy. Thankfully, that kiss does not happen. That would just be wrong....

Slott you sick guy. 0

I must admit I was fearing this issue particularly because of the cover. Thank God covers always lie.Anyway to the actual issue at hand. I felt that this was more of a Peter/MJ story than Ock/MJ story because of the fact that Peter was commenting throughout the entire issue. I enjoyed him being in it as Peter represented the views of the reader as he expressed his disgust to Ock's attempts and MJ's rather dopey behavior towards not realizing anything odd about SpOCK. The use of Ock creating more...

now we're getting somewhere...o and SLOTT? REALLY? 0

so in The Amazing Spider-Man #700 we saw Peter and Doc Ock switch bodies and Peter Died (in Ock's body) so now Doc Ock (in Peter's body) is now trying to be a better spider-man as seen in Issue 1. but now we see that Spider-Ock is trying to make Peter's life better by getting MJ and him together...but now we get to see the true things i wanted to see out of this issue.THE GOOD:Slott is very smart. if this was a series through the eyes of Ock it would ruin the whole thing, like i would hunt after...

Outer-body Experience 0

I've been a Spider-Man fan all my life, and along with many Spider-Man fans I have been upset with recent events. I have however came into this series trying to have as open a mind as possible, but I'm still finding it hard to like it.PlotThis issue sees Superior Spider-Man (Doctor Octopus) trying to work out how to be Spider-Man whilst attempting to date Mary Jane, whilst the ghost of Peter Parker follows him.ReviewThis wasn't a bad issue, but far from brilliant. Marvel, and Dan Slott have take...

Superior Spider-man #2 0

Otto Octavius/Spider-man continues to prove that he can be a better Spider-man than Peter Parker ever was. In the last issue, he did so by craftily dealing with the newly formed Sinister Six. In this issue, his focus turns to Peter Parker's love life and the inevitable Otto Octavius and Mary Jane Watson coupling. The issue of Otto romancing Mary Jane while in Pete's body is touchy. If he succeeds in "wooing her" and "sealing the deal," that would be tantamount to rape. After all, it is not Otto O...

Superior Surprises 0

The novelty of Doc Ock parading around as Peter Parker has definitely not worn off yet. In this issue, Slott provides some good laughs and some much needed direction to the somewhat creepy Superior Spiderman/MJ relationship....

NEVER Take Dating Advice From An Octopus 0

Going into the second issue of this, it definitely got better than the first for me. The cheesy script of the first issue died down for this as this one showed more of the personal life for the new Peter Parker. The Good: This issue shows more of the personal life of Otto in his new body and pretty much shows him as a major creep, the whole issue made me feel weirded out, but at the same time made me laugh. The art still continues to give it a modern comic look and fits well with the writing Dan ...

Superior Spider-Man 2 0

There maybe a new Spider-Man in town trying to live up to the old one's expectations, but that does not mean the new Spider-Man doesn't get to live a little. The GoodWarning SPOILERS AHEAD! Writer Dan Slott has really done a number on this Spider-Man series. Spider-Man's a know-it-all jerk in this series and Slott uses that personality to create humor and show how Ock is really different from Parker. Reading Dan Slott's interpretation of the SUPERIOR Spider-Man is like relearning everything abou...

Is it Rapey? 0

Dan and I discuss the comics we've read in the past few weeks. If I've done this correctly, it should automatically start at the Superior Spider-Man part. If not, it's at 19:35.We also discuss the internet furor over the supposed rape of MJ by Potto PoctaviusWe would LOVE comments!...

Anything You Could Do, I Will Do Better 0

Ryan Stegman is definitely a great artist. Not only does the action have plenty of dynamism, but he does an excellent job with the facial expressions, especially of Ock-Parker. In fact, I think the mastery of his face in this issue is vital to understanding how the character can work. While I, as a reader, am LOOKING for signs that he's Ock, the general public and Peter's friends and family AREN'T looking for a reason to distrust him. His expressions are a goofy and definitely set to Ock-Parker ...
