Kara Zor-El is Superman's cousin and last survivor of Krypton's Argo City. She has a brash and defiant personality that she developed in response to the destruction of Krypton. Currently, she's operating out of National City alongside the D.E.O.
Supergirl is one of my all time favorite characters, but this last incarnation is just a waste of space, she should be retconned immidiately and bring back the true Kara Zor-El that died in COIE
DC can't even get a movie out for the last of their big three. They've got too many problems dealing with their other medias, its not worth hoping for a new and good supergirl movie

If you noticed, there aren't any female superhero movies in the Hollywood pipeline. WW was probably the closest to being done and that fell through, And it WW can't overcome the hurdle of sexism in the industry, then who can?
Now at the risk of sounding sexist myself . . . - it always seems a bit lame to me to have a guy (who's stereotypically supposed to be the strength in a relationship) get rescued by the girl when it's done in a way that emasculates the guy; I can't think of any examples at the moment, so I'll just speak in general terms.
Phoenix, I totally agree. I can't even joke around with my bf about saving him. He gets all moody. lol. It's hard to have women as the dominant role, because if she saves men, people are like "oh, he's a pussy" but if she saves women, they'll say "oh, she's a lesbo". Obviously not all the time, obviously not everyone. But it's difficult for badass women superheroes. Which is why I like Madame Mirage.
I guess one way it could work is in the case of Elektra, although the movie and her 1st big screen appearance were terrible, that model can work: a spinoff from a cameo from another superhero movie.
Just came to mind, Selene was no joke. and I can see myself getting rescued by her; and Trinity too. Hmmm, considering leather is the only connecting factor in all three cases (Elektra, Selene and Trin') . . .
I was totally thinking about Elektra when I was writing that, ha. But I think the strength of those heroines are their abilities as fighters, not as saviours. They're not saving a man in distress like Supes would, but rather killing/maiming the enemy in revenge.... I don't know, it made sense in my head. Basically, I think women superheroes have more potential/are less controversial when they're on offense rather than defense.

but if you actually read some of the old Supergirl issues (Pre-Crisis), you'll see that she was actually quite good at breaking sexist barriers, going so far as to lay the smackdown on Superman every so often lol
How the hell is that not sexist? You're saying that women are weak and need rescuing from men and that's ok, but God forbid if a man needs rescuing, especially FROM A WOMAN.
I want to see Wonder Woman kicking ass, saving Stevie, punching bad guys, and being her strong, imposing, unapologetic, Golden self. Not some wimp who needs rescuing and kills bad guys instead of helping good guys. Although she should do both.
