There have been many incarnations of Supergirl, the most current "Girl of Steel" is Kara Zor-El, Superman's cousin and last survivor of Krypton's Argo City. In the new 52, Supergirl has a more brash and defiant personality in response to the destruction of Krypton.
In November 2011, the New 52 and now began a new direction was taken to the superheroes of DC, principally the one of most lovely superheroine of all times: Supergirl
Let's take a look at the new Supergirl feats in this new universe:

I'm going to get her HC when its out but i enjoyed the SuperGirl from pre 52, i'm just wondering what's the difference between the two? Is the 52 one stronger and more confident? Is it still a good comic?
@NeoAndroid: She's still a nice girl,only this time with more reality shows how she is adapting to life on Earth, how to use her powers and her memories about her planet are confused.
About her powers,this has not been well established whether it is more powerful, but appears to be. Better than ever
That wasn't a red sun blast from Superboy, that was just his telekinesis. Also, Supergirl's fight with Superboy was more impressive for him than for her, as she barely even phased him and he made her scream with one blast.
I believe there is a scan of someone stating that she is more powerful than Superman, or at least implying she is, but I don't have it on me (It's bull anyway, but it's interesting nonetheless).

One of Wolrdkiller said that she is more powerful than her cousin,I'm searching for this scan... I do not know if she really is mightier than he, since he is still developing his powers (which I wish he had already developed).
@matchesmalone21: Im glad its more realistic since it always struck as odd how the Pre SuperGirl was like "Cool New Planet, Amazon Training Man Im Good" So im glad that shes going through the process that anyone would in her situation. I haven't seen other respect threads of her to be honest this is the first one i have seen.
I'm glad that she seems to be stronger in this series, she always seemed to me that she was but that was never fully explored in the Pre 52 SuperGirl comics (from what i read anyway)

I believe Superman was holding back in that battle and he was just trying to reason with her...The writer said so.
@buttersdaman000: ithink its only the falre thing but they have said that supes will be more powerful than kara but in turn she will have a few more abilites. Plus they said they were going to make a female krytonians power set differ from a male krtonian.
@Z3RO180: Actually, they left that part ambiguous. They never said whether or not Superman would be stronger....in fact, i'm more inclined to believe these writers would be willing to pull that dumbsh!t they tried pre-52. A few years ago Kara was in fact more powerful but the fan backlash was so huge that they retconned it. I'm pretty sure you've seen the scan.

@Z3RO180: In one of her previous books, Jeph Loeb had made it clear that Supergirl was to be taken as the more powerful of the two. This is simply the scan that retcons that.
@LoganRogue24: I just can't see this costume ever being as iconic as her previous costume. I always felt that one of the most distinctive things about Kara was her miniskirt.
