Meet Supergirl. She's got the unpredictable behavior of a teenager, the same powers as Superman – and none of his affection for the people of Earth. So don't piss her off!

Something that looks like a meteor shower lands on Earth, which is investigated by an unrevealed organization. When the biggest of the 'meteors' land in Russia, the organization sends two intercept teams to the crash site.

Kara Zor-El awakes in a blizzard in Siberia, but doesn't feel very cold. She initially believes herself to be dreaming, reinforced by her wearing her post-graduation uniform she has yet to earn, and various other factors. She is confronted by the intercept team (men in powered armors) who attempt to inform her she is in a restricted area, which she does not understand due to the language barrier. When they try to 'contain' her, the sun rises. Her powers activate, though using them against the intercept team has varying degrees of success. When she breaks apart the armor of one of the attackers, she tries to interrogate him of her current whereabouts, with little success. Superman appears on the scene, knocking out the remaining attacker. He tells Kara to stop.

Having all the same powers of her cousin Superman doesn't mean she shares his control of ability. Written by Michael Green and Mike Johnson with artwork by Mahmud Asrar and Dan Green. The GoodWith the birth of New 52, writers have the chance to get their hands on some of DC Comics' most beloved and iconic characters to re-tell stories that wil...

Not exactly the Supergirl I know but still pretty good 0

Good idea or Bad Idea?Supergirl may be a very controversial title because of the drastic change in her look, personality, and history. No longer is Kara Zor-El like we knew she was. This is a different Supergirl and while I'm not sure why DC had to change Supergirl so drastically, I do quite like this new one. This issue gives a brand new origin for Supergirl. It's not quite as good as the one Jeph Loeb wrote for her in Superman/Batman: Supergirl but it is nonetheless an interesting way to reintr...
