Superboy destroys all of Smallville… or does he? Find out in my 300 review! (Spoiler: I won’t let you know in this review is he destroys Smallville or not. Read it yourself to find out) The Good The first thing you notice about this issue, the second you pick it up is that there are two very different, yet distinct art styles by Marco Rudy and Daniel HDR. One style is more of the traditional art (HDR) and the other is very surrealistic, and looks like it was done in watercolors (Rudy). Ma...

The Good: This is only my second issue of Superboy, and yet I didn't feel too lost. It definitely calls back to some running threads, but doesn't snob you away if you're not caught up.I picked up last issue because of Reign of Doomsday, and I only kept on for this issue because of Marco Rudy's art.        Cover When I first saw this cover I knew that Conner was going to be evil and something was possessing him. I was happy to see that they did not foul us with the cover because all of that happened. Story A plant has taken over Conner when Psi-Lad and Conner are in Space. But this plant is no ordinary plant it shows Conner’s worst fears. Best Part This issue showed how many people Conner cares about. With his fear was that everyone he cared about was dead and he killed them. Even wi...

The Review:  Well after last months side step into the Reign Of Doomsday crossover we are back to the Superboy that Jeff Lemire has been developing since the start of his run.  Connor seemingly wakes up in a world that has been or is in the process of being destroyed.  He is to blame...How did this happen?  At first I thought I missed an issue when flipped through the book in line at my LCS but upon reading it, all is explaine...

"Woo ah, mercy mercy me. Ah, things ain't what they used to be.." 0

Have "Mercy" on our souls, Jeff Lemire finally can place a darker-edge on Superboy.  Issue #6 marked Marco Rudy as the interior artist for Superboy and issue #7 continues the visual synergy that Lemire and Rudy have on this series.  No longer held back by the bright colors and the superficial Superhero stories, Lemire can explore ideas that get to the root of Superboy.  I don't know if this issue was inspired by Alan Moore's great tale: "The Man Who Has Everything", but Lemire shows us no Black ...
