    Doomsday Vs Superboy

    Cover

When I first saw this cover I was not really excited to open the issue up. I have not been following the Reign of Doomsday. So, I was scared I would be lost. But the art for the cover was pretty interesting.

    Story

Superboy has a chat with Red Robin about trying to find a real home and where he is going in life. After his conversation he flies away and runs into Doomsday and they have an epic fight.

    Best Part

I really enjoyed the conversation with Tim and Conner. I like that they are best friends and they can tell each other anything and they go to each other to really vent their feelings out. I also thought the fight with Doomsday and Superboy was pretty awesome in this issue. The mention of the Superman and Doomsday fight fit very well. Then when Conner tells him self is this what Superman felt like when he died but then shaking the idea out of his head was a great add to the story.

    Worst Part

Even though I liked the fight with Doomsday and Superboy it was way too lengthy. It took up the whole issue. It made story very limited in the issue. Also the randomness of the fight was very odd. Superboy was right when he said in the issue “ Doomsday? Doomsday?! Where the hell did he come from? Totally Appeared out of the air”. That quote totally summed up how I felt.   He really did come out of nowhere. I just felt like that Doomsday was very forced into the issue.

    Art

The art has improved a lot from last issue. I loved the art during the Doomsday fight and I thought it made the fight much better than it was suppose to be. The only problem I had with the art is how Conner looked in the first couple of pages when he was talking to Tim. It seems like when Conner is not covered in blood and not in action the art is very bad for his character.

    Pick it up or not

    Do not Pick it up!!!

Strong issue, and not just because he's the Boy of Steel 0

In this issue, Superboy comes into contact with the unstoppable force known as Doomsday. It's an honest homage to the "Death of Superman" storyline, but it doesn't end as tragic as you'd think. The Good While I missed the whole "Reign of the Supermen!" storyline, I was always a little fascinated by Kon El; not quite as boyscoutish as Superman, but still willing to serve the greater good. It really shows through in this issue, and that's because of Jeff Lemire's writing. Kon has some moral strugg...

The Good: Oh boy do I love Marco Rudy's artwork.I like how the issue was set up by the conversation with Tim, it really represented the balance of Superboy between 2 titles, Teen Titans and Superboy. The battle between Superboy and Doomsday was as epic as I expected it to be. A completely brutal throwdown with both sides giving it all they had. There were some key hints that clued me in on the secret of Reign of Doomsday.I know it's a common complaint in all the Reign of Doomsday issues, that Doom...
