Superboy # 12 Review
Superboy # 12 Review
Overview:
Superboy’s civilian life is explored and he meets a new villain.
The Good:
The story is entertaining as Superboy still doesn’t understand social customs (if that is the right word) and it is funny to see how others react to it instead of just the Teen Titans. Several new characters have potential such as Dallas, Jules Bennet and the new villain, Kiva and I hope they will be recurring instead of one time uses, especially Kiva as the New 52 has a tendency to make an interesting villain and then kill them.
Tom DeFalco wrote this and apparently replaced Scott Lobdell. In this issue he does a remarkably good job with the dialogue.
The art by Robson Rocha and Eduardo Pansica is really good, the hair and faces are really good and the backgrounds are top shelf as well.
The Bad:
Tom DeFalco is the writer now, personally I am not a fan as I usually find his dialogue choppy, it is a shame that Scott Lobdell is no longer writing.
Verdict:
As the first issue of a new arc, it is pretty good, nothing is amazing but nothing is horrible either so it is a fun start to an adventure that leaves some interesting side characters that have a lot of potential.
