    Better then the first issue

It's hard to tell if this mini-series was ever suppose to be taken seriously. The first issue was ok, with the art greatly out shinning the story. MODOK's 11 is obviously a play on Ocean's 11, and gives you what info you need right off the bat: this is a heist story. The characters being brought together wasn't nearly as interesting as what happens in this issue. The problem was that these are all the bottom of the barrel when it comes to Super-Villains, and no one really cares what they were doing before they were brought in to be on MODOK's little team. Instead of showing that Armadillo was in Pro Wrestling, they could have just mentioned it and it would have been enough to get a laugh.

This issue flows much better as the team is starts training for the heist, and we finally find out what the that is. MODOK's rants are actually quite funny. Playing on the old-school villains that can't shut up about themselves is perfect for MODOK as the character always feels like a villain that is no longer with the times. There's plenty of humor in the story even though everything is played straight. There's even a reason that MODOK picked these villains in particular for the job, instead of others that might figure out exactly what he is trying to do. There's also a few twists in this issue that show a lot of promise. What started out as a mediocre heist story with little known villains, is turning out to be something fairly entertaining.

If the next three issues keep this up, MODOK's 11 could be a very solid mini series. Francis Portela art work couldn't be any better, and the story itself seems to be headed in an interesting direction. The only thing holding this series back, is actually the gimmick that brought it together: the villains. The characters here aren't popular for a reason.
