@boynerdgeek: Only the Guardians aren't villains of other established heroes. I never said they needed their own movies but them being prisoners sent there by heroes you'd think they'd be at least put into a movie first you know as a villain before they turn them good(ish).

This is all sorts of wrong without the ground work first. Any and all villain in this should have been in a film already and then form, like the evil version of Avengers mcu. This would obviously require an Aquaman film, and varios others to show them all getting locked up and recruited.

    Suicide Squad film? YES!!!

Current SS line up? F**k off.

Deadshot, Boomerang, Bronze Tiger? Yes, bring on the classics and the staples.

HOWEVER!, I want to see Rick Flag helming the team. Make this the classic (what we know as the classic) Suicide Squad.

Don't tie the film too closely to all the upfront, mainstream heroes. It could serve as the sort of "Guardians of the Galaxy," type film for the expanded DCCU.

Tease Harley! Use her lightly or throw her in a sequel. No one is amped to use the Joker on film after the death of Ledger. However, alil bit of Harley Quinn teasing at the Joker in the new DCCU could be alot of fun.

    Anyway, thats my 2 cents.

Anyone who feels that Harley should be excluded from this, in my opinion, don't have their hand on the pulse of what is making money these days. Batman Superman are obviously the top bread winners when it comes to DC but if you are into collectibles then the hardest character to collect is Harley and if there is a Harley item available it's usually doubled in price. Just the speculation of a possible Harley in the suicide squad on Arrow had the internet buzzing. So Harley has to be in the movie and don't be surprised if she has a major roll as well.

Wish people would stop with the whole "They need solo films before they can all appear in a team film" talk, so many films live-action and animated have proved it's not needed, whether it be outlaws turned heroes or villian assassination squad, as long as the film and script is good and the characters are done justice..people won't care. ..I just recently watched Assault on Arkham with my 3 yr old God son, his 9 yr old niece, and their 14 yr old cousin, none of them had any idea who any of the characters were going in besides the joker, and they loved it, and were interested in the characters even more afterwards.

movies about villains? Pass. Unless they make them really evil, are given the opertunity to get redeemed & just use it to continue their criminal carriers, no. We've already had one DC villain "inspire" an idiot in real life, you'd think DC would have already gotten the message. Just give us a movie about the Legion of Doom forming. SVB:DOJ introduces the JLA, have a Dawn of Injustice. Lex, Cheeta, Black Manta, Zoom, Sinestro, Bane, maybe also Vandal Savage. Hopefully Sony will do the Sinister6 properly so DC will have something else to copy.

Whoa Whao slow down there skippy. Batman Begins and TDK were awesome. Superman Returns, Dark Knight Fails, GL, and MoS were all iffy to downright bad. Watchmen was really good but it doesn't do anything for the DCCU (nor do the aforementioned awesome Bat movies).

In conclusion: interesting stuff, but seeing as how these are date announcements and such - we'll have to wait to see what they actually come with. Now Marvel CU... an argument could be made for them "killing it" as it were.

Sweet! I prefer Deadshot 10x more than Deathstroke. If the live action film is anything like The Losers, or Assault on Arkham then I'm definitely going to enjoy it. (+)

Exactly, we don't need Deathstroke, he wouldn't fit the tone. Plus he's such an important part of the Teen Titans that it would be a crime for him to appear in this.

@EdBlank: don't know what you're watching man but MOS wasn't bad....it was quite awesome. And I can name you several Marvel movies that sucked, Ghost Rider? DD? Electra? New Spiderman? Punisher? Hulk? Yeah....it's not just DC that has crappy movies at times. Dark Knight is still a much better movie than Avengers, there's so many plotholes in Avengers I can be here all day. Besides, in every other medium we all know DC IS indeed killing it better than Marvel with games, animated movies and TV. Nuff said.

I'd have to disagree here, I think if anything the opposite. Deathstroke is a very popular character now probably more so than most of the Suicide Squad members(depending who they are) I'm not saying have him as the main star, just put him in there at some point even if he gets a 10 minute segment. Plus, currently he's also apart of the SS. This depends also what arch and team they want to really go with. I'm just referring to current New 52 stories where DS is a key part of the Suicide Squad, but if you're talking say Batman Arkham or other teams that could work too. I don't see how DS showing up would be a bad thing though.

    But to each his own.

@fallingcliffs: A) He's too impotant to the Teen Titans to use in this film B) he is way too similar to Deadshot (and don't even think of taking him out, he's most well known for the Squad) C) That's just it though, he's already popular enough, they need to focus on other characters.

Plus they may go with a route of a bunch of misfits or loser villains together (which I would love) and that does not fit Deathstroke.

lol I noticed you seem very hung up on the DS/TT binge, that's great and all I don't oppose that either just saying currently if they run with the New 52 stories, DS is apart of the SS currently. I can see the similarities between DS and Deadshot, though personally I like Deathstroke better) but the one thing about the Batman Arkham I didn't like was the King Shark or Black Spider(they felt like generic bad guy fillers), IMO that was a wasted spot that Deathstroke could fill Black Spider or King Shark(I mean honestly both are lame lol)

I wouldn't remove Lawton, I agree he's a key part of the Squad but you can't honestly tell me that King Shark or Black Spider is better than Deathstroke, no way lol. Let's say for argument sake the line up is Deadshot, Harley, Amanda Waller. That's three right? say you want 5 that's a good round number. You have Deathstroke, Black Manta, Killer Frost, Captain Boomerang, Joker's Daughter, Rick Flagg, Black Spider. Let's say these are the other options.

This is how I see it realistically.

Black Manta-unlikely, I can't picture him done that well on screen(that helmet I mean...I don't know) could go either way I guess.

Killer Frost-I can see honestly, she's a badass and one of the few on the team with actual powers.

    Black Spider-lame, all i'll say.

Captain Boomerang-Also lame to an extent but iconic so I can see him getting in, I just have a hard time seeing a dude dressed like that that throws boomerang explosives so that could work.

Rick Flagg I can totally see.

King Shark-I don't like him that much lol and would wonder how they'd go about him on the big screen. CIG, mask or similar to how they made him in Assault on Arkham? I dont know...

Joker's Daughter-IMO too new, I know she's apart of the New 52 but to me she's just a wanna be female Joker. If she's in I can see her and Harley having bad/weird chemistry but I dont know lol. i'm kind of on the fence with her. She could work though since let's face it, Joker on screen has been done very well in general.

But I think we're looking at it from different perspectives, I would just want the movie to be successful and feel at some point Deathstroke should at least show. I agree, he's very popular and doesn't need all the spotlight. I'm actually more concerned with who the rest of the roster will be.

I can see your points though, I trust you can see my concerns though as well lol.

The misfits they're all kind of misfits in a way, I just hope they dont go with Black manta, Black Spider, King Shark that team would be boring as hell imo.

@fallingcliffs: I know he's currently a part of the team, but so is Black Manta and Joker's Daughter, two other characters I really don't want to see in this film either. Black Spider felt like filler, but I like King Shark, plus he's an Aquaman villain, so they could connect it to the Aquman film. Again, Dethstroke is way too meta for the team, and too similar to Deadshot, he does not fit.

I also hope they don't use Killer Frost, it would suck to see her on film before Firestorm.

I'd like Captain Boomerang (he may be a Flash villian, but he's become a staple of the team).

After that they have about over 100 other members to choose from to form the group.

I'd rather have the film be good, instead of successful. Plus, Deathstroke is not suddenly going to make a million more people want to go see it.

I agree with ya on Black Manta, Black Spider and Joker's Daughter. I can see the similarities with DS and Deadshot, but I agree DS is more powerful and probably would mean for less interesting since Deathstroke is well far smarter and better than most of the SS team.

Firestorm? Been a while since I've seen someone wanting him on film. He's ok, one of those characters I kind of feel indifferent honestly but I think after their abomination of an attempt with Mr. Freeze already on big screen I wouldn't mind Killer Frost as she fits DC's darker theme going on not just in comics but with their movies.

Say they don't have Deathstroke anywhere in this film, I'd like this team:

Killer Frost, Deadshot, Amanda Waller, King Shark, Captain Boomerang, Harley Quinn. I'd be fine with this team, has some nice diversity and definitely has your misfits. As you said there's many more these are just among some of the more popular ones, plus remember the New 52 vibe is in now so I'm sure that'll have some influence too. I'm sure though if it's good it'll be successful and vice versa, this is also one DC film where nobody can complain over the "darker factor" since this is a darker team. Still, I do think if Deathstroke made it in there a lot of people would be like "oh crap it's Deathstroke!" plus he's currently apart of the Squad.

So I guess time will tell which team exactly they'll run with.

@fallingcliffs: No, what I'm saying is I don't want them to use Killer Frost, because it feels like a slap to the face to us Firestorm fans.

As for the rest of you choices they sound good. They are a good mix of bad ass, and misfit, which could lead to a very good film. Still, the thing about the Squad is it's one of those teams that the members don't really matter, as long as you get across what the team is to the audience. So other then the members I don't want to see, I don't really care who they pick.

Also if you want a character to make people go "Holly sh!t it's him!" then just use someone like Bane (real Bane).

@captainmarvel4ever: Oh, hmm that's an interesting view point. Yeah I don't know much about that whole Firestorm bit. I'm just speaking in regard to how she's been a recent member of the SS, worked with them etc. I mean I know you are a fan of him, but just saying what the guys who make the movie will be thinking. Know what I mean? Maybe he'll get a cameo in one of these movies. I just think she can be fit in since currently she comes off as a misfit, outcast etc trying to fit in and such. Hey plus, maybe she'll bump into him since also right now in New 52 she likes Firestorm as he's the only one who can feed her hunger? Yet it won't kill him. Eh, Bane's cool and all but only if done right. Meaning not watered down like DKR or made stupid like grunting like Batman & Robin, but still I think DS will be in this movie at least as a cameo or ending with "we need a new team" then having DS walk into the room or something then cutting out.

But everything else I'd totally be down for ;) how about that? Say Deathstroke isn't in the movie except the ending ;)

@fallingcliffs: Not in the comics recently, only in the animated movie as filler (although I will admit shew was used well). I'm hoping the guys who make the movie will be thinking about us fans, since that's kind of the point of making these. In any case there are more then enough replacements for her. Again, the Squad has had over 100 different members throughout the years, so we don't need to be picky. That's why I said true Bane, because I did not like the movie Bane they used, I think an authentic Bane would fit in perfectly with the Squad.

I still wouldn't like that because it implies he's going to be in a sequel. However if it's a teaser where he says he's going to be "Baby Sitting" and it sets up him as a Titans villain, that would be cool.

@captainmarvel4ever: Yeah, that's what I meant more so Arkham. Although she did work with Trevor during Forever Evil but technically he's not apart of the Suicide Squad, he's more A.R.G.U.S.(sometimes it gets confusing all these government groups lol) Yeah I know tons of members no doubt just pointing out the more popular, solid ones. Was Bane ever apart of the Suicide Squad? If he was I missed that team for sure. lol I think I'd be more for that if this movie at some point takes place in Gotham, possible right?

lol to each his own I guess. I'd love to see Deathstroke as apart of the Suicide Squad if they make a series of movies with it, for sure. Plus, remember they don't share various universes ie TV, movies etc so they could easily use him in one Suicide Squad film then use him later on as apart of a TT film. Look at Batman, Superman etc we've seen several versions on TV, movies over the years. I could totally get by that idea.

@fallingcliffs: I know, DC has way to many secret covert shadow organizations. Someone needs to write a comic where someone goes around and takes all but one or two of them down so it's less crowded/confusing. I'm pretty sure Bane was a member at some point (almost every villain has been) even if not he was part of the Secret Six which is very close to the Suicide Squad. Heck I wouldn't mind if they used elements from that series for ideas, just like how Marvel uses many different versions of a character/comic to make their films.

They could, but I'd like his first big screen appearance to be just as astonishing as it was when he first appeared in the Teen Titans comic. Heck a great move would be to make a Suicide Squad film, kill half of the cast, have Deathstroke as a Teen Titans villain, then have him in the next SS film.

@captainmarvel4ever: Ha yeah, true. One of my friends gets Suicide Squad confused with Secret Six all the time lol.

Hmm yeah that order could totally work, I can see some people being like "oh no why'd they kill such and such" off lol. But that sounds awesome. I noticed you really like Deathstroke and the TT :P.

@fallingcliffs: That's because outside of being a Titans villain, he's not very interesting. His relationship with the Titans is like that of Superman and Lex Luthor, or Batman and the Joker, they play off each other so well it's almost Shakespearean. When he's not a Titans villain he's basically a cool looking guy with a gun and sword, which is cool, but not very interesting. That's why I'm a little upset DC keeps pushing him so much. I wouldn't mind if it was interesting, but so far he hasn't been.

@fallingcliffs: I don't like how Captain Marvel is being portrayed in the New 52 either, it's completely out of character, and just kind of annoying.

@captainmarvel4ever: He doesn't seem as bad of late, I like how he's posing as Superman in the future during Clark's exile. To me that was homage to the past as he has looked up to Superman.

At first I was like wow, they made Billy a douche lol but now he's cooler IMO.

Now, Wally now THAT pissed me off lol. Hopefully they improve his writing of that character.

@fallingcliffs: I don't like that, I would have preferred it to be Jon Lane Kent, Cyborg Superman, or Superman infected by the Doomsday Virus, mainly because in the New 52 he doesn't look up to Supes, so it feels much more forced (I wish he did still look up to Supes though).

    I honestly don't see how he's cooler.

Wally has only been around for a few issues, just give him some time. Unless the network needs him to be edgy, in which case he will be stuck like that.

Big bump with some added news:

    From: http://411mania.com/movies/rumored-roster-revealed-for-dcs-suicide-squad-movie/

The leader of the team will be Deadshot, who is probably the most famous of the group. He has appeared in animated form (Justice League, Batman: the Brave and the Bold, Batman: Gotham Knight) and most recently showed up in Arrow. He’s best known for being an assassin that “never misses”.

The rest of the team includes:

Blockbuster: A large man with superhuman strength, stamina and endurance.

Multiplex: A supervillain with the ability to create multiple copies of himself.

Jaculi: He has super-speed, similar to The Flash, but can only move in three-second bursts. He also carries explosive javelins.

    Mindboggler: A female telepath.

Harkness: Better known as Captain Boomerang. He uses a wide variety of gimmicked boomerangs.

Vixen: She has the ability to mimic any animal through the powers of a necklace. She can also heal.

Harkness and Vixen are said to be the co-leads of the film, which currently doesn’t have a release date or cast.
