    • "The Rise of the Atomic Knights!" ushered in by scribe John Broome and illustrator Murphy Anderson, transported fans to a post World War III Earth ravaged by atomic radiation. While facing a bleak, apocalyptic future, soldier Gardner Grayle, teacher Douglas Herald and his sister Marene, twins Wayne and Hollis Hobard, and scientist Bryndon Smith discovered 6 suits of radiation resistant medieval armor. Donning the suits and dubbing themselves the Atomic Knights, the sextet sought to restore civilization one city at a time, starting in the MIdwest of America, where they brought down the tyrannical Black Baron and opened his massive food stores to a starving populace.
