    The premiere issue of DC’s first science fiction series! Join Chris KL-99 and the crew of the Pioneer as they face “The Menace of the Green Nebula!” This issue also features an adaptation of the movie Destination Moon drawn by Curt Swan, plus a slew of original science fiction tales told by some of the top DC and sci-fi creators of the era.

    1. THE MENACE OF THE GREEN NEBULA: (Chris KL-99) after exploring a few planets and escaping certain doom Chris gets a distress call from inside a dangerous nebula but it is a trick to get him to lead greedy men through the nebula to a radium rich world within.
    2. THE GIRL WHO COULDN'T DIE: (Department Of Scientific Investigation) a Hollywood starlet walks into the department of scientific investigation claiming she can't die then shoots herself before jumping out the window but is uninjured.
    3. MR. FUTURE: story about how H.G. Wells predicted the future in his stories.
    4. THE SECOND DELUGE: a scientist uses a hydrogen bomb to end a global drought but it starts a chain reaction that causes endless rain until the entire world is flooded.
    5. THE MAN WHO LIVED 2000 YEARS: (text story)
    6. DESTINATION MOON: adaptation of the 1950 movie of the same name.
