Deus ex Machina is how I write
Art - The art is average. Where it is bad the colors save it, but only where the line art dips below the average line... where it doesn't the color generally is below average to average. There are some panels that are really good, but they are often surrounded by bland art.
Story - The team is absorbed, save for Midnighter. Apollo falls from space and is the only hope of saving the team which is the only hope of saving the world via the dude that can talk to cities, via the city having a alchemy thingy that can defeat the monsters. The first thing that tweaks me is the tag on the cover "If Apollo falls who will save the Earth" which is the people trying to say "Apollo is the strongest there is" when we haven't seen anything to suggest such and all that other stuff. The other thing that tweaks me is the fact that the whole thing is a deus ex machina... and it's worse because it isn't needed because the sword guy has all the knowledge of the moon which should have included how to stop the monster, but they didn't use that.
The best thing I can say about this issue is that at least they're insulting the rest of the DCU less in this issue than in the previous issues.
Characterization - There is none...or if there is it is just a smidge with Midnighter implying that Apollo is good looking.
Recommendation - Don't buy this v.v
