Born to an American photo journalist and Kenyan princess, Ororo Munroe is one of the most recognizabe superheroines in the Marvel Universe. Using her unique ability to see and manipulate natural energy patterns of the universe to summon any type of weather phenomenon she desires in the blink of an eye, she is called Storm.

As I mentioned before, though there are hints to Ororo's open-ness to other mores and values coming from her upbringing, nothing in her past actually suggests that she is bi or anything other than straight. We had a discussion about this in some other thread about homosexual icons in Marvel and I went through a lot of prior issues and confirmed that she's never been written or shown to be anything other than straight.
As far as I can tell, Storm is straight but not narrow and her friend Yukio is just a good friend that brings out the wild side of her personality a bit more.

I agree with everything here. I don't think she has ever been shown as a bi-sexual or gay. I definitely agree that from all that she been exposed to she would fall under the catergory straight but not narrow. Great post.

Don't you think the dialogues with Yukio seem to cross the line just a tad? The behavior is flirtatious. Personally, I don't act like that even with my closest friends.. granted girls get away with more things than guys do.. But as I said before, Storm doesn't seem like the type to flirt with another girl because it's 'hawt'. Ya know?
Some of my straight girl friends sleep in the same bed, kiss each other (some have done this with tongue), run their hands over each others' bodies and flirt.
The HBO show "Girls" even played around with this by showing two best friends in the bathroom together while one shaved her legs and the other finished up a shower, the same best friends sleeping with each other & cuddling in the same bed and two straight female friends kissing to be exploratory - these were shown not only as examples of the closeness of their relationships but how the same behaviors they mutually perceived as innocent was considered "flirting" by outsiders.
I think Storm and Yukio have a similar relationship. Honestly, Storm has always been very unencumbered in that regard - she kissed Wolverine (with tongue as far as we could see) and, as we know, is not ashamed of nudity. Being unafraid of expressing her appreciation for a friend or loved one through physical contact just doesn't carry the same negative connotation for Ororo that a Western person might have.

Lets just say that Storm, is a woman who, while paired withs ome men over time, does have a history, thanks to Chris Claremont (He who created characters like Emma Frost, Mystique and other characters whose sexuality and ideas were a decade or two ahead of their time)
Sort of like another tall, attractive, kick butt comic woman
