Origin
Storm is a descendant of an ancient, royal line of white-haired, blue-eyed sorceresses (and possibly mutants), who get their defining features every 5 generations. Her mother, N'Dare Munroe, married an American photojournalist, David Munroe, and they lived in Manhattan. They moved to Cairo, Egypt when Ororo was still an infant. When Ororo was five, she and her family were caught in an Arab-Israeli conflict. Her parents were killed and Ororo ended up buried under rubble next to her mother's body. Because of this, Ororo has a life long struggle to overcome her severe claustrophobia.
As an orphan, Ororo was forced to live on the streets. She was taken in by a street gang and learned the ways of pickpocketing, lock-picking and thievery. It was at this time she had her first encounter with Charles Xavier, a powerful telepath that would, years later, form a team of mutants called the X-Men.
Years later, Ororo left Egypt and returned to her ancestor's homeland in Kenya. Her mutant powers to control the weather lead the local tribe to believe her to be a goddess and worshiped her. One day, Xavier was left no choice but to contact Ororo and ask her to assist in rescuing the X-Men. Afterwards he informed her that she was not a goddess but a mutant. Ororo agreed to join the X-Men and went to live in America. Ororo began to adapt to her new life. She also became the team leader after defeating Cyclops in combat, even after losing her powers.
After the events of M-Day in which the majority of the world's mutants became de-powered, Ororo returned to Africa in order to protect former mutants. She was reunited with T'Challa, the Black Panther and king of Wakanda. T'Challa proposed to her and Ororo accepted. Their marriage coincided with the Civil War brewing in America, and their wedding was riddled with disagreement and fighting between heroes on both sides.
After their wedding, Storm and T'Challa went on a royal world tour. Their first stop was Dr. Doom's castle in Latveria at Doom's request. After battling a legion of Doombots, they escaped and visited Namor in Atlantis, who did not receive them well. Afterwards they flew to the moon to visit the Inhumans royal family. There they were attacked because of Quicksilver's recent theft of the Terrigen Mists. While the fighting was stopped, they left with the looming threat of war between the Inhumans and earth. Lastly, they stopped in America where they were set up and attacked by Tony Stark and the Sentinels of ONE. Storm and T'Challa decided to stay, and have indicated support for Captain America's rebellion against the Super-Human Registration Act. After Civil War, Storm and her husband made a temporary home in the Baxter Building and filled in for Reed and Sue Richards of the Fantastic Four. With Reed and Sue's return, and their adventures with the Fantastic Four over, Ororo and T'Challa moved back to Wakanda.
Powers
Several times in the past, Storm has been described as a "sculptress". This is (arguably) the best way to describe her mutant mastery over weather, and certain forms of energy. When Storm uses her psionic powers, she sees the world as colorful, constantly changing energy patterns, rather than solid matter. These energy patterns can be "molded" to Storm's will to create a vast number of effects which mainly deal with weather manipulation. Storm is greatly in tune with nature and the elements. She can feel them, and likewise they react to her emotional state. She can manipulate weather patterns on a variety of scales, including the ability to summon large and violent thunderstorms and blizzards, as well as sleet and hail.
She has the ability to fly by gliding on wind currents. She can also move objects or other people with the wind or create a dome of air pressure to deflect attacks. Storm's power over air pressure has also been used to crush powerful objects such as skrull warships. She has even created pressure (on earth) higher than that found on Jupiter. Storm’s powers grant her the ability to fly as high as the atmosphere can be stretched by using her mastery over wind. She can even carry other people with her. Storm can also use the weather as a weapon. She can summon lightning bolts from the sky that can be used to blind, stun, or severely burn her opponents, even to the point of death. She can also use this ability as a concussive force. When using her powers, Storm becomes one with the energy patterns she manipulates. This gives her the ability to project weather effects through her body. For instance, she can generate lightning, intense cold, and intense heat, from her hands rather than from her actual atmosphere. Her power over thunder has been used to create deafening sounds for distracting her enemies. She can create powerful tornados, hurricanes, and various winds that are capable of moving a vast number of objects/people including levitating an entire building, and sending theHulk soaring away from her and her teammates. Her ability over water and it’s forms has been shown by her creating heavy rainfall, and instant floods that have even “washed” away savage land dinosaurs. Control over moisture and temperature allows Storm to freeze/flash freeze objects and people in the blink of an eye. In fact, when she once lost control of her powers, Storm was in danger of creating another world-wide ice age. She can also generate heat as strong as the earth allows. Storm can control the weather vocally too. On several occasions she has spoken to the weather like a general to her army and the weather obeys. Storm’s powers change when she enters a different planet or dimension. In deep space, if close to a star, she can manipulate solar winds. If far from a star, it would take strong concentration to use this power, so, she can almost always depend on her lightning wherever she goes. Storm’s ability to adapt to her environment isn’t limited to large bodies of water either, as she has manipulated ocean currents similarly to how she manipulates the wind. She can summon clouds and fog to provide cover and obscure the view of her enemies. Storm has also shown that, when drastically overwhelmed, she can become a being with lightning for hair, and breath of fire and ice.
Besides the strength of her mind, body, and will, Storm is limited to the power of the planet or star she is on/near. The more options the planet/star has, the more options (powers) she has. She works with the energies that govern weather, which means that although she can create an instant flash flood, the water that is needed for such a feat, doesn't just come out of nowhere. She gets it from the earth as it is her power supply. Due to very good training from an early age, Storm can use her powers to set many weather patterns out of place to perform/create exotic feats/effects, and then set them back from where she got them from, putting weather patterns back to their natural state. Thus, she can disperse any Storm she generates as long as she uses her powers wisely, considering the fact that it's easy for her to create weather, but more challenging to disperse it, or, "clear it up". However, Storm may have more to her power arsenal than she shows, as she not only generated unnatural pressure on earth, but also manipulated (and intensified) plasma while in the earth's atmosphere.
She seems unaffected by the weather, including lightning and temperature. While in the past, Storm has been attacked with (and harmed) by lightning/electric blasts she hasn't created herself, and almost overheated due to trying to adjust to violent weather, it appears that the more experienced she gets, the less the weather seems to harm her, both indirectly, and directly. This is further shown by her being able to reverse/counter electrically based attacks.
It has yet to be confirmed, but it has been mentioned on several occasions that Storm may be an Omega level mutant. Uncanny X-Men #147 showed that Storm is able to transform into a being with lightning for hair and breath of fire and ice. While Black Panther #21 says that Storm is indeed a possible Omega-level mutant. Storm has also summoned the full power of millions of stars and planets.
During her brief stint with the Fantastic Four, she hosted the consciousness of the abstract entity Eternity within her own mind, enabling Dr. Strange to perform a mystical surgery on the dying entity. According to Strange, he and she were the only ones present with the strength of spirit to survive hosting Eternity. The other heroes present were Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, the Thing, Black Panther, and Silver Surfer.
Storm is highly athletic, as well as skilled at hand to hand combat. She has proven this on many occasions, most notably in two different circumstances. First, when she defeated Callisto, the leader of the Morlocks. Second, when she lost the use of her powers, but still defeated Cyclops to become the leader of the X-Men.
Mystic Heritage
Ororo is the descendant of a long line of African Priestesses and Sorceresses that had white hair, blue eyes, and strong magic potential. This line of women has been around since the dawn of Atlantis. While there have been many of them, the exact number of the women who possessed Ororo’s unique features is still unknown. But due to the fact that Storm possesses the signature markings of a witch (on her maternal side only) She has inherited strong, yet latent, magic abilities. To this day, Storm still has not truly embraced the mystic aspects of her heritage, but she does embrace the “Bright Lady”, The Goddess of her ancestors who is also know as the Vishanti member, Oshtur, the source of her ancestral magic. Storm has used her latent ability as a priestess, to successfully invoke her name. Out of the entire line of women, only 3 have been brought up. Ayesha, a Sorceress Supreme who was possibly the first to hold the High Priestess title. Ashake, a very talented Egyptian sorceress who appears to have also been High Priestess of her time. And another “Wind Rider” who was confirmed by Andreas deRuyter and his father. Like her ancestor, Ayesha, Storm also possesses the title of this era’s High Priestess. But she shares the title equally with Scarlet Witch and Agatha Harkness.
Weaknesses
Storm is extremely claustrophobic. It has been evident as well that storm is a very strong woman, but sometimes her emotions create opportunity for weaknesses.
Status
Alternate Realities
Earth-295
On Earth-295 (Age of Apocalypse), Storm (as the Windrider) once carved out a portion of Africa to protect as its guardian from the surrouding chaos. Apocalypse didn't like this, kidnapping her and branding her eye before sending her to be trained as one of his warriors. The Prelate named Scott Summers helped her escape; she later joined the X-Men as led by Magneto. Her love interest in this universe is Quicksilver. See: X-Men Chronicles #1-2, X-Men: Alpha, Astonishing X-Men #1, Amazing X-Men #1-4, Age of Apocalypse 10th Anniversary One-Shot, Age of Apocalypse 10th Anniversary #1-6.
Earth-1298
On Earth-1298 (Mutant X), Storm is known as Bloodstorm after she becomes a vampire and leaves the X-Men. See: Mutant X #1-32, Mutant X Annual '99, 2000, and 2001, Paradise X: Heralds, and Marvel Encyclopedia.
Origin
Bloodstorm was originally turned into a vampire by Dracula.
At one time she reluctantly turned Gambit into a vampire, because he was dying and he begs her to do it no matter what. He ends up hating her for what he becomes. Thankful bastard!
Bloodstorm, meanwhile, keeps Kitty Pryde and Forge in a castle as her own personal blood supply in order to survive.
Storm then joins Havok's team, the Six, now whith the name Bloodstorm. This was actually Earth-616's Havok who accidentally had crossed over to Earth-1298.
The Six initially consisted of Havok, Bloodstorm, Ice-Man, Brute, Angel and Madelyne Pryor.
Later she is pulled from her own reality by Machine Man of Earth-9997 and joins the Heralds. As a reward for helping she is cured of her vampiric state.
Powers
Bloodstorm has the same powers as Earth-616 Storm, ability to manipulate weather patterns in her area to summon winds, rain, fog, snow, hail, thunder, or lightning, though amplified by her vampiric state.
Additionally as a vampire she has the standard vampiric traits such as superhuman strength, speed, endurance, and reaction time, ability to morph into a bat, wolf, or mist. She can summon and control vermin, and use a hypnotic stare to hold human beings enthralled. She must suck the blood of others to survive otherwise she is invulnerable to most forms of permanent injury.
Earth-1610
On Earth-1610 (Ultimate Universe), Storm is a founding member of X-Men and had a relationship with first Beast, then Wolverine. See: Ultimate X-Men.
Earth-811
On Earth-811 (Days of Future Past), in an alternate future in the year 2013, Storm is one of the last remaining mutants until she dies in an attempt to destroy the Sentinels' command center in New York, though not before taking out an Omega Sentinel all by herself. See: Uncanny X-Men #141-142.
Earth-2149
On Earth-2149 (Marvel Zombies), Storm is turned into a zombie as most of the heroes on that world. See: Marvel Zombies.
Earth-9105
On Earth-9105 (Forever Yesterday), Storm was a part of the Avengers, a government task force loyal to Sphinx, and married to teammate Horus (who was this Earth's equivalent of Thor).
Earth-9602
Storm on Earth-9602 has been amalgamated with Wonder Woman (from the DC Universe) and is known as Amazon or Wonder Woman, having won that title in a fair contest against Diana. See: DC vs. Marvel #3,DC / Marvel All Access #4, Amazon #1, JLX: Unleashed #1.
Origin
Amazon's ship was wrecked by an angered Poseidon and her parents were killed. After being nursed back to health, she was raised by the Amazons, particularly the Amazon queen Hippolyta, as a princess and as a sister to Diana.
Powers
Ororo Munroe is a metamutant with the ability to control the weather. After the Amazons discovered Ororo's power to control weather, they taught her to create a lasso with lightning that could make people tell the truth. She eventually left to enter "Man's World" where she joined the JLX and took Aqua Mariner's place as leader.
Earth-9997
On Earth-9997 (Earth X), Storm is Queen of Wakanda, a refuge for Ani-Men. She is married to Black Panther, now a man-panther hybrid.
Earth-58163
On Earth-58163 (House of M), Storm is the Queen of Kenya, as revealed in "Secrets of the House of M." She uses her weather powers to help Africa become the breadbasket of the world. She opposes Magneto's stance on humanity, instead believing that "Sapiens" should have the same rights as mutantkind. See: House of M #1, House of M #6-7, Black Panther #7.
Earth-Belasco
On Earth-Belasco, Storm is trapped in Otherspace, learned black sorcery from Belasco, and later trains Illyana Rasputin in the white magical arts. She also helps the X-Men from Earth-616 return to their world. She chooses not to kill Belasco when she has the chance so she doesn't become like him. Storm is later killed by Illyana to prevent Belasco from stealing her soul. See: Uncanny X-Men #160 as well as Magik #1-4.
Earth-Mutant Destruction
On Earth-Mutant Destruction, visited by Exiles' Weapon X, almost all mutants have been killed by Sentinels. Xavier's school has been destroyed and Magneto sends Asteroid M hurdling toward Earth. Storm has created a haven for mutant and human alike in "Storm City" (what Chicago was renamed to when she staretd ruling it with the help of Vanisher), having created an impenetrable stormfield around it while Vanisher serves as the only means in and out of the city. Although Exiles' Weapon X is sent to kill the remaining mutants, Hyperion (replacing Storm from Earth-23895 on the team) decides he wants to rule the world, instead; when he finds he can't stop Asteroid M, he starts killing the remaining mutants of this Earth so that Exiles' Weapon X can move on to the next world. Gambit of Exiles' Weapon X, having just lost his Storm, takes up a relationship wih this Earth's Storm, who has lost her lover, Gambit of this Earth. But when Hyperion starts killing mutants, this Earth's Storm asks Gambit to kill her rather than be killed by Hyperion; Gambit reluctantly does so. See: Exiles vol. 2 #38-40.
Earth-20051
In the Marvel Adventures universe, Storm is a member of the Avengers along with Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Hulk, Wolverine and Giant Girl. See: Marvel Adventures.
Mojoverse
In yet another alternate reality, Mojo created X-Babies so that he'd get higher ratings. His plan backfired, as the X-Babies acted very much like the heroes on which they were based. The X-Baby modelled after Storm was called Shower. The X-Babies that Mojo created came from an earlier idea when he turned the X-Men into X-Babies and, in doing so, had garnered higher ratings. See: Uncanny X-Men Annual #10 & Uncanny X-Men #461 for X-Men turned into X-Babies; for more X-Babies, see: Uncanny X-Men Annual #12, Excalibur: Mojo Mayhem, X-Men #46-47, X-Babies: Murderama, X-Babies: Reborn.
What If..!? 40
What if Storm had stayed a thief in Cairo instead of going to Kenya when she was a teenager? She was caught stealing from an older man named Herman Hassel, who turned out to be a retired thief himself. Herman took Storm under his wing, at which point she started calling herself Jack Black and accompanied Herman to New York, where they were thieves together. When Ororo was arrested, her claustrophobia caused her mutant weather powers to surface. Later, Ororo attacked the X-Men because they were threatening to Herman, who had stolen an important gem. Charles Xavier managed to calm Ororo down, perhaps particularly because Herman had taught her to be respectful towards elderly people, especially cripples. Ororo declined Xavier's offer to join the X-Men, but she gave up thieving and instead returned to Kenya to find her true self. See: What If vol. 2 #40.
What If..!? 79
What if Storm absorbed the Phoenix instead of Jean Grey? Because Jean Grey is knocked out, Ororo pilots the capsule using her weather powers. However, it doesn't work and all of the X-Men except for Wolverine and "Storm" die in the crash. This Ororo emerges from the wreckage as Stormphoenix, whose power over the various aspects of weather is now absolute and all-inclusive. She decides to rule the Earth as a benevolent dictator, freezing anyone who opposes her into the atmosphere. As she grows more cruel and detached from humanity, a plot emerges among those closest to her to kill her. However, when these people examine the original capsule, they find the real Storm in a healing cocoon. Since she's comatose, Kitty takes over her body to confront Stormphoenix as a fraud. The Phoenix thus decides to leave Earth, but the real Storm dies in the process, the strain of it all having been too much for her weakened body. See: What If vol. 2 #79.
What If..!?: Age of Apocalypse
What if Legion had killed Xavier and Magneto? In this version of the Age of Apocalypse, Storm has become one of the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse alongside The Incredible Hulk, The Unstoppable Juggernaut, and Namor the Submariner. Storm and the other Horseman carry out a campaign of extermination against the mutants using the Savage Lands as a safe haven. In a battle, Storm unleashes a lightning bolt at Wolverine. See: What if The Age of Apocalypse? (2006 Special)
X-Com
Hailing from an unidentified alternate reality, the X-Com featured male versions of several X-women, including Storm. X-Com became the bodyguards of Captain Cymru and, as such, battled Captian Britain of Earth-616 on her orders. See: Uncanny X-Men #462.

Each squad consists of one human being, two to three mutants, and one Artificial Intelligence operative. Storm is the headmaster in charge of X-Men training as well as a member of one of the aforementioned squads. Her squad includes Nate Grey, Psychedelia (a female mutant with illusion projection powers), the human David Chan, and A.I. Sarah, Model #00-1468. The squads defend the Unitd States against the world's greatest threat: Wolverine. The fact that he becomes a super terrorist doesn't help the world that's struggling to put its mutant bigotry behind. See: X-Men Millennial Visions 2000.
Earth-904
On Earth-904, instead of leaving with the rest of the X-Men as she did in the Earth-616 continuity, Storm remains in Asgard. Storm and the real Thor (turned into a frog by Loki!) defend Asgard from invading forces of Hela and Karnilla as well as a disguised Loki's machinations.
