Because of all of Storms' wandering around, Marduk has lost any trace of him. This is why he sends specially trained bloodhounds to all the corners of Pandarve in an effort to find him. And with success.
In a port, Storm, Ember and Nomad are looking for a buyer for the ship Renter Ka Rauw has given them. That's where one of the hounds finds them. But Marduk isn't the only one interested. A group of rebels looking to overthrow Marduk is following them as well.
They end up in the rebels' hands and the hound returns to Marduk where he turns him into a human so he can help find Storm again. This leads to a final showdown in the rebels' base, the Temple of the Vulture God, between the forces of Marduk, led by the hound, and the rebels.
