I don't like the artwork on Nemesis. :(

After Steve's enormous success on Old Man Logan, and before that Civil War, working with inker, Dexter Vines, he (for some reason) finds himself inker-less on Nemesis.

The result IMO is really shoddy.

I don't know if this was done to save money on this creator-owned project, but the result really sucks.

How about an image of what you are talking about so I can join you saying that you are right and it sux or to be against you and say that you are crazy and need to be put in Arkham XP

I've never seen McNiven art look scratchy like this...

Oh yeah, compared to his work from Civil War and Old Man Logan...that art sucks, maybe it wil be changed?

The time for an inker to tighten up pencils is before the artwork is published.

You never get a second chance to make a first impression.

You know what else is a byproduct of not having an inker?

ALL OF YOUR PANTS LOOK LIKE CARGO PANTS.

Well, maybe tights don't look like cargo pants, but they don't look like tights either. They look like skin with bad creases.

Its not bad art, but not nearly as good as Civil War or Old Man Logan.

Once you've had caviar, it's hard to go back to spam.

I just made that cliche up. :)

I agree that it's not bad art, but it's nothing like this:

Thank you, War Killer!

My point exactly.

The art doesn't seem too bad to me. The WRITING on the other hand...

I think his work is pretty good.
#13 Posted by Roxanne Starr (9093 posts) - - Show Bio

I only read a few pages. As soon as I figured out the premise, I lost interest.

The writing might be all right, but I will never find out. Between the annoying artwork and the over-done theme, I have no interest in this title.

I think it is a combo of the Inker/Colorist that really help his art. Not sure what they are doing here but it just doesn't fit as well. Sounds like the book isn't really written to his strengths because another artist could nail it with the dark themes.

Your right, Bingbangboom.

Steve's style is far too "heroic" to be wasted on this book.

definitly not his best stuff.

Ahem. Without Dexter, McNiven's artwork falls apart.
