Static in his own series? :O

If you remember the early issues of the original Static series get behind me on this one.
Imagine ultimate Spider-man with an electric dude.

Who's with me? Huh?

That'd be really cool.

@Mutant X:

Virgil could stay with the titans. Other characters have been Titan's and had solo adventures too :)

I'd read that series.

Only if Mcduffie is writing it

@Nighthunter:

McDuffie and Robert L Washington III. The same team to catch the same old magic.
Maybe Not Jean Paul Leon though. Still like his work but his style's a little dark now.

With his own title? Not likely, he was ok before, but he has no star power right now and nothing really to write about.  I could see him possibly in a one=shot sort of scenario.
or maybe as a second feature in an already established title.

@Lustwish:

It's all about the team behind it.
When Static first got his own series he had no recognition factor at all.
What about series like the red circle stuff?
#10 Posted by DEGRAAF (7870 posts) - - Show Bio

i think he could get his own series but i know i wouldnt pick it up. i like him but not enough to read a solo for him
#11 Posted by Gylan Thomas (2727 posts) - - Show Bio
@DEGRAAF:
What if it was really good solo?
#12 Posted by DEGRAAF (7870 posts) - - Show Bio
@Gylan Thomas:
most likely not. Atleast not with out  picking up some random issues that have superboy, superman, or Dick Grayson in it. He is my second favoritememberof the titans on the current team i just most likely wouldnt follow him solo. Im already following to many

yea I'd read it, Static is one of my favourites, spent ages trying to get rebirth of the cool and was able to find the original series online.

Took me literally years to find #4 of Rebith Of The Cool but I did it in the end.
Used to like the thrill of the chase with comic collecting too. Trudging through shops, marts and conventions to find some elusive back issue. Internet's sort of taken that away.

See I used to be very loyal to my favourite characters but in recent years I've moved more towards writers.
For years I was buying stuff just because of the character and some times not really enjoying it that much.

@Gylan Thomas:  yea, I was actually pretty lucky with rebirth of the cool after spending days trying to find it online I gave up hope then when i was in My local store they had two of them.

I got the first three first time round but the fourth just never showed.
Those early issues have to be soem of the most underated comics in the world ever. I'd love if they could do that again.
#18 Posted by DEGRAAF (7870 posts) - - Show Bio
@Gylan Thomas: so you dont continuosly follow a character with no concern who writes it?
#19 Posted by Gylan Thomas (2727 posts) - - Show Bio
@DEGRAAF:

Erm....Honestly? Yeah. These days only Spider-man though. Used to buy just about every thing by the big two. You can imagine it got kind of expensive.
#20 Posted by DEGRAAF (7870 posts) - - Show Bio
@Gylan Thomas:
Yea i was having that problem too so im trying to just cut back to one or two solos from the each of the big two and then the big events if i think they are good

Yeah, he deserves it. Hopefully, if DC does this, they should give him a good writer/artist combo. I don't care if they worked at Milestone.
I mean even Batman Beyond has a solo title right now. WTF.

@Gylan Thomas:  yea its a six issue mini
#24 Posted by Gylan Thomas (2727 posts) - - Show Bio
@RedK:

Suppose that'd be a start.
I really want a good ongoing for Static though.
#25 Posted by Captain13 (3284 posts) - - Show Bio

Yeah, it's a mini. But Static doesn't even have that right now. I was trying to make a point. lol

I joined the group by the way. Viva La  Revolución!

Don't get me wrong. I do see your point. I'd settle for a decent one shot. It'd be a start :)
#27 Posted by RedK (2521 posts) - - Show Bio

I wouldn't mind seeing a mini dealing with some time off from the titans and superdupering (static referance) around dakota and his interaction with friends and heroes after being away for awhile

Maybe they could give fill out his DCU history a little. Apart from some Brave and Bold issues not a lot's been doen with the Milestones DC time.
#29 Posted by RedK (2521 posts) - - Show Bio
@Gylan Thomas:  they showed how the milestone universe merged with the DCU in milestone forever and then he only showed up once in brave and the bold along with hardware and xombie
