    Virgil Hawkins was exposed to a mutagenic gas that swept his city of Dakota, which gave him and other 'bang babies" superpowers. With the ability to control electromagnetism, Static joined the Teen Titans and continues to protect his city while serving on the team.

    I would keep Static close to the same but I would have him be close to eighteen and I would have it be revealed that it was Lex Luthor who tampered with the gas Virgil was exposed to. Lex would have done this in an attempt to make more Earth born metahumans.

    Nice concept, but i don't think Static's origins should be tied to the another character's, in this case the Superman universe.

    His origin was fine, hell, moving him out of Dakota was unnecessary to begin with anyway.

    I just thought it would be a nice way to tie him into the DCU but I do understand. @Adnan: I agree that he should not have been moved to New York.
