    I’ve read a couple of the DC/Vertigo books – Sandman Mystery Theatre and the entire run of The Invisibles. Starman 4 has that feel. There’s a narrative about Harry Ajax, an eccentric self-proclaimed artist, sign painter and sculptor who created a Hawaiian Shirt that depicted the stairway to Heaven. Albert Bekker, a very wealthy man, wants the shirt and has been searching the world over for it. The trail leads to Opal City, and to Jack Knight’s shop.
